How much quicker are you trying to go?
OP, I went with the Whipple Gen 5 for my ā18 and I am NOT a Whipple fan-boy by far as Iāve had all Centris and turbos before and they did work well but looking at what Whipple offered for the ā18 made my decision.
Although itās a Whipple ā18 and PBD custom tune, mine pulled all the way up to 8000 on a few other pulls. He actually was lifting a bit on these two pulls just shy of 8K.
My '18 put down 978 RWHP and 751 RWTQ with the new Gen 5 Whipple a few weeks ago using the 3.625" pulley and 20% OD, 10 rib, standard HE, Full MBRP longtubes, 3" H-Pipe with CATS and their mufflers, E85, ID1050X injectors, Complete Fore fuel system. That is over 1000 at the crank. We could...
Thanks man. I've been watching your build on your '18 as well and it's a nasty ride too. I had plans for the Ben Calimer all billet MT82 trans that is 1000 HP rated but found out today that it has the same 15-17 ratios. I don't want that plus I am told that the '18 trans is beefier than the...
Man no doubt about it. I really like turbos but the new PD's aren't playing bro. I mean look at my graph all the way to about 8000 RPMs! It looks as if it would keep pulling but we stopped.
Dang man, well I'm glad you got it fixed. I'll keep you posted on mine.
Thanks man. I've seen your...
Thanks man.
Lol, yeah man with the bottom end of a PD blower, it is just soooo much more responsive than my '16 was with the twin LPF kit. Don't get me wrong, the LFP kit was strong but it came on much later than what this Whipple does AND the Whipple keeps on pulling just like the turbos did...
Thanks man.
Good question man. I'll have to ask if a different WP pulley was used. Anthony never mentioned to me that one was BUT the 10 rib kit was an upgrade so maybe a WP pulley came in the kit. I'll find out.
Thanks man. Time to just sit back and enjoy it for a little while before I...
Yes get the alternator bracket for sure to help flexing of the alternator. My '18 just made 978 RWHP and 751 RWTQ with the whipple 3.0, 3.625" pulley, 20% OD and E85 with the 10 rib system and hasn't missed a beat yet.
My car just had the complete 3.0 Whipple installed as well, loaded the tune up and now the traction control isn't working and the digital dash displays "Pre-Collision Assist not available". It's been at the dealership for two weeks now and they can't figure it out thus far. Let me know if you...
From what it looks like, the SAME boost level is the 16 psi level that Hellion is speaking of that was a difference of 370 HP which is believable. The last graph was the 8.3 psi of boost that made 900 HP.............That's my take on the opening thread.
Oh, one thing the shaftmasters doesnāt use like the DSS and Gforce uses, the shaftmasters does not use any adapters on the transmission or the rear end. It simply bolts right up on both ends and no adapters to aid in vibrations......just another thought.
I had the same issues with a DSS and Gforce shafts.......both vibrated from 45 MPH on up to where I got off of it because I didnāt want to hurt anything. I made one more attempt at buying shaftmasters unit and lo and Fukin behold, no more vibration at all.......as smooth as silk and as the stock DS.
Looks damn good Chris. My blower hasn't come in yet but my $2500 Fore fuel system did. I don't understand when you say the fuel rails don't work though. When I saw Anthony's car it had rails BUT I cannot say what kind they were or if he modded them. Either way man I'm excited to see how yours...
