  1. Auto trans maintenance

Just a drop and fill? What's your take on the pressure flushed fluid thing?
  2. Auto trans maintenance

What's LV fluid? As a Ford tech you agree with this?
  3. Auto trans maintenance

Is this real life? I cannot fathom not changing my tranny fluid or at least servicing it in the next 15 years.
  4. Auto trans maintenance

What are we to do with the transmission fluid in the autos on these S550s? Pan drop and fill every 30K? The force flush bullshit? I've never had an auto and I know its such a contentious topic so I'm trying to figure out what to do.
  5. AC just doesn't work very well?

Wow 22 degrees, there is NO way I am getting that cold of air. I might be in the 55-60 degree range. Wow! Ugh I don't want to go to the dealer, I hate dealer service departments. The last time I brought my car to the dealer I didn't have it for 8 weeks. bah I've got bubbled paint on my...
  6. AC just doesn't work very well?

Can anyone with an air temperature probe (cylinder with holes in it) take a temp of their max A/C outflow temperature. I know that sounds stupid but I'd like to get a comparative reading.
  7. AC just doesn't work very well?

I traded in a modern sedan for my Mustang that would literally FREEZE it's passengers with extreme cold. My Mustang's AC doesn't cool me down, even in a 15 minute drive. Any one else have a subpar experience with their AC?
  8. Mishimoto Oil Separator Review - Only buy if you have hands the size of a 10 year old

Instruction sheet? Now I must find this. Did you install the one that goes from the can to the intake manifold from under the car as well?
  9. Mishimoto Oil Separator Review - Only buy if you have hands the size of a 10 year old

Maybe, I'm returning it either way. Has caused me too much anger to even consider trying again. American Muscle wont pay for return shipping, which is understandable, but now FedEx and UPS wont ship the box because theres not enough packing in it. AM included no packing peanuts or paper or...
  10. Mishimoto Oil Separator Review - Only buy if you have hands the size of a 10 year old

Gotcha, your routing is definitely entirely different. Yours is mounted near the battery right?

  12. Mishimoto Oil Separator Review - Only buy if you have hands the size of a 10 year old

I figured this would be the first response. No offense taken. I've comfortable rotating tires, changing brakes, changing oil. Very basic stuff. I assumed this would be a very basic install, thus I could easily handle it right? The catch can --> intake manifold line is literally impossible to...
  13. Mishimoto Oil Separator Review - Only buy if you have hands the size of a 10 year old

I bought the Mishimoto Oil Separator from American Muscle last weekend, and I received it on this last Friday. Last night I pulled the car into the garage and jacked it up, ready to do the advertised "15 minute install". What a joke. The instructional video Mishimoto provides online is...
  14. Urgent: What is this sensor?

So to be clear the grey clips dont actually sense anything in the manifold, theyre just being held there?
  15. Urgent: What is this sensor?

Thanks for your reply! I am having trouble determining if the clips ar actually slid off or if they are fine. The grey connector is how it appears in the picture right now, although it feels "loose". Is this normal and I don't have to worry?
  16. Urgent: What is this sensor?

I tried to install my Mishimoto catch can this evening, and it is a very tight squeeze (read: not a 15 minute install as advertised). I was able to get the crank case --> catch can line installed after putting the car on a lift, but the catch can --> intake manifold line is a pain in the rear...
  17. Does anyone use royal purple oil

Nobody in this thread is talking about racing. Of course RP's standard synthetic oil probably isn't the best option for racing applications, thats why they make race oil... I would change my oil every oil change too if I was racing hard, as well as lots of other fluids and stuff. That doesn't...
  18. A/T fluid swap/flush?

The service interval for the transmission fluid in the automatic is 150K miles, aka "lifetime" fluid. This doesn't sit very well with me, so I'd like to start a thread on a sooner service interval and get some feedback from A/T owners. From what I've heard the A/T "flush" services offered by...
  19. Does anyone use royal purple oil

I'm a long time user of RP and I'd like you to post some sources to back up your absolutely outrageous claims. :paddle: The standard RP oil is full synthetic and RP themselves rate it at 12K miles. I also use their filter and have had my oil tested after this 12K interval and had no abnormal...
