  1. Ford Escort Mk1 Rwd with Ecoboost Mustang engine

    But...but....why not a V8? Seems like a lot of expense for just a 4 banger. :D
  2. First oil change, which oil do you recommend for EcoBoost?

Why buy an ecoboost and mod it? Just start off with a GT. Ecoboost, more like 'weakoboost', am I right guys? looolz. You're just going to blow your motor before you even get up to as much power as a stock GT makes. ECOBOOM. It's a fake Mustang that sounds like a wet fart. Rental...
  3. Hand Brake

I don't like that mine wiggles when it's all the way down. It feels cheap, like it's about to fall off. It sits too high, also.
  4. ebay intercooler

It will be more than sufficient for the FP tune.
  5. Backup Camera Doesn't Work in the AM

I've been parking outside for about a month. We're living with our in-laws while we're having a home constructed. I won't be garage parking again until the first week of August. Maybe it's a humidity thing? I haven't noticed any issues after washing and it works fine in the rain.
  6. Backup Camera Doesn't Work in the AM

I've had intermittent issues with my backup camera since I bought my car last year in November. But now it consistently doesn't work in the mornings. All I get is a black screen and a message that the camera is unavailable. It works fine in the afternoon, though. Is there a fix I can do...
  7. Who do you let drive your car?

Years ago when I had my 97 GT I made the mistake of letting someone drive my car. He immediately put it through a barbed wire fence and into a ditch. Lesson learned. Now, even though I don't drive the 'cool' Mustang, only my dad is allowed to drive her. He had a Tempest back in the 60's that...
  8. ebay intercooler

There's a few of us here that are running ebay intercoolers. I bought the Rev9 Mishi knockoff from Amazon. I think it's the same as the Ebay ones. Fitment was fine, installed pretty easily, no issues. I don't race the car and only do occasional full throttle blasts and for that it's been...
  9. Does anyone know about these ebay downpipe sellers?

I have read going catless makes the exhaust very raspy. Keeping the cat tames the raspiness.
  10. EB pro cal tune with downpipe

I remember reading that, as well. I'm not knowledgeable enough to speak authoritatively on the subject, though. I would love to learn.
  11. EB pro cal tune with downpipe

I'm a bit fuzzy on that, is the MT-82 in the EB the same gearing as in the GT?
  12. EB pro cal tune with downpipe

As far as I know, the downpipe is where you lose power in the exhaust. I don't think there are any mods that can add power to the Ford tune. I think all you can do to go faster is add 3.73 gears on the Ford tune.
  13. EB pro cal tune with downpipe

Probably not realistically affordable for most people to do a built motor, true. What's unreliable about built motors, though? Are you referring to the potential for things going wrong being higher when you add bigger turbo and auxiliary fuel?
  14. EB pro cal tune with downpipe

What do you consider big power? Are you talking 600+ hp? 400-500rwhp seems pretty doable and reliable. I guess that's not really big power anymore though. You can make those numbers on NA V8's.
  15. EB pro cal tune with downpipe

Ha, yeah, so did I. I still miss my old GT. These little turbo 4's are super fun but seem sooooo finicky compared to V8's.
  16. EB pro cal tune with downpipe

I bought the EB over the GT with the intention of going all the way with the motor. I wasn't as informed as I should have been, but I knew enough to have an idea of what I was getting into. I think, lol. It's going to be interesting to see if 450rwhp is even possible outside of a huge turbo...
  17. EB pro cal tune with downpipe

I'd like to see 450-500rwhp for my daily driving. Why? I don't know. Because. :headbang: Paying her off soon and then the real work will begin...
  18. EB pro cal tune with downpipe

You need a built motor to handle 500hp for long. That's another $4k-8k. So, say around $10k to make/handle 500hp. I *think* it costs roughly the same to get a GT to 500hp NA as it does to get an EB to 500hp+ with a built block.
