The torque boost is nice - 30lb-ft gain. I'm surprised they didn't bump HP up, though. Seems odd to me. I wonder if it's because the cars it's competing against aren't getting any faster?
I mean, the new Camaro SS and 392 Challengers are faster than the 5.0. Ford needed to increase the GT's...
That's roughly 350-360hp at the crank. You're coming in a good 15-25hp over the published HP numbers for the tune. Considering the FRPP tune is your only power mod, it really shows, I think, how bad the stock intercooler is and how much HP is lost with it.
That makes the FRPP tune pretty...
You can't add a lot of the premium features to the base models. In terms of daily driving, I much prefer the creature comforts of my premium to having a car a 10th of a second quicker. I can overcome the speed deficit. You can't add BLIS to your base model.
I do all the work that I can on my...
If practicality mattered, we'd all be driving boring FWD hatchbacks and minivans.
My wife gets the practical car - 2016 Hyundai Sonata Limited Hybrid. I get the fun car. Yeah, the EB might not be as fun as a GT, but it sure as hell is a lot more fun than a hybird.
Cleveland engines have started blowing as well, so I don't think the production plant is the guilty party in regards to Ecoboom. I would point at the tunes and say it's the tuners being too aggresive, but then we've got a fair amount of bone stock cars tossing rods as well, so I have no idea.
For a DD, you're probably spot on with the FRPP tune and 3.73 gears. You keep your warranty while being able to have a seriously quick and fun to drive car. It's an excellent tune for anyone wanting to keep their warranty and/or still making payments. Mine will be paid off next month and after...
Personally, I'd rather motor swap my EB to a 5.0 than trade up to a GT. The prices from Midway Mustang on complete assemblies are pretty reasonable - you'd be paying similar for a built 2.3L longblock.
Had I known at the time I would have bought a Camaro SS or Trans Am WS6, but I didn't - I just knew that Mustangs were cool. I was a young, dumb infantry Marine, so I worked with what I had.
Fortunately when the engine blew it was right before my first trip to Iraq, so I used all the money I...
The 4V's were pretty good for the time. The 2V was slooooooow.
On my 2V I had ported heads, cams, full exhaust, intake and a tune and honestly, I think the car was faster after I swapped in the Mach 1 with just a tune (300whp/331wtq).
Some people take this hobby way too seriously. I used to. I spent a small fortune on my 97 GT trying to keep up with and beat LS1 Camaro's. I had nothing to show for it in the end. I don't even have that heavily modded car anymore.
Also, the hybrid Mustang has me curious. I might buy one.
