The whole ecoboom issue, overblown or not, certainly isn't helping the EB's reputation.
I don't know if the Challenger is a better built car than the Mustang...it is a Dodge, after all. You might be disappointed there. But hey, go drive one, see what you think.
I love it. I love the retro muscle car look and feel. I LOVE being back in a V8. The extra interior space makes it comfortable for my wife and daughter to ride with me.
It's not the fastest muscle car out there, but it's certainly not slow (it pushes me back in the seat better than the EB did...
I was in a similar situation. I only had my EB 10 months before I traded it in on the Challenger.
Not getting a GT or Challenger in the first place was a mistake.
Oh well, it's only money and money comes and goes. Better to have a car you're in love with than trying to suck it up and like a car...
I hear that... After I tuned my EB everytime I touched the gas pedal I had 'will this be the time I ecoboom' in the back of my mind. The 2.3T can be really finicky if you don't know what you're doing. And I don't. Modding a turbo 4 was all new to me. I learned a lot from the guys here, but the...
I went back and forth on getting a catch can on my EB. I eventually bought a JLT catch can, but never installed it.
In the worst case, they don't do anything and it's just snake oil. On the other hand, if they can prevent fuel octane from being lowered and help slow down the carbon buildup on...
Chambered mufflers are bad news on turbo cars.
I ran a Lethal performance y-pipe and NXT Step Performance axle-back on my EB. It wasn't overly loud and I never noticed any drone. Nice deep tone at idle, no raspiness at high RPM.
That's interesting. Maybe a balance shaft delete should be added to the must have mods list, right after the intercooler.
I hope the EB community gets it figured out sooner than later. Too many blown engines on what has proven to be a platform that can make some serious power relatively...
ooh rah! I was an O331.
As far as the 5.7L goes, it can make some pretty good numbers on the stock block. I'll probably go full bolt on with a cam and ported heads. I'm not really worried about it right now, it's fast enough for me. Besides, I've always liked the underdog thing. I mean.... I...
I waited a few days after purchasing my Challenger to make this post. I debated on whether I even wanted to.
I grew up loving muscle cars. I like imports and exotic sports cars just fine, but I LOVE American muscle. As I've said before, my first muscle car was a 1997 Mustang GT. I modded it...
Youtube videos don't give an even remotely accurate depiction of the sound you'll get with an exhaust.
I made a youtube video of my custom cat-back and it wasn't even close to the actual sound.
You're not going to get away from the 4 cylinder sound, so if that's what's not acceptable to you...
I'm going to sell my SCT X4. It was only used on my car and only flashed one time. Does returning the car to stock unmarry the X4?
I'm going to sell it and don't want to screw over the person who buys it.
Understood. E85 conversion kits are also expensive. WMI is more cost effective and provides similar octane levels to E85 but has the drawback of needing to ensure you keep the tank full.
One thing is for sure, the V8 is much easier and safer to mod than the I4.
