Good to hear. I have not unfortunately. I'll pack as much into it as I can and give it another shot tomorrow morning. I think I may shorten these up a little bit. I saw the other guys had them much shorter than my 12" lengths. They are pretty long and heavy, I don't want to stress out the...
Yes I knew it wasn't linear, so that is good. I'd still like to shoot for ~10dB. I'm not there yet though even with more steel wool. Do you think I'd be OK even if I jam pack it full? I can probably get a lot more if I do that.
Missed the few posts since msweet's first reply before replying myself. Yeah I mean there are other options, but like msweet said, I want a nice sounding exhaust all the time, not just when flooring it. It's an inconvenience but it's 3 minutes out of my day compared to the hour of driving I...
Glad you popped in on this thread. Thanks for the inspiration. 10dB drop is nice, I'm not at that much. I'm guessing you had that much because you had it pretty restricted with the cap.
I modified a bit yesterday, I wrapped steel wool around the baffles and zip tied them on, and I put some...
I could be wrong but it sounds like you live in a house with neighbors nearby. I live in a condo, meaning I share walls with my neighbors, and my car is literally 20 feet from my neighbor's bedroom windows. That's my concern. I'm going to try to modify the baffles a bit and hopefully test it...
Yeah that's true. I'm wondering if I take some of the packing away from the inside of the PVC and wrap it around the baffle itself if that will work. Or get some stainless steel wool and wrap the baffle leaving the ceramic packing in place.
Maybe I'll get some stainless steel wool for the void in the middle. It's just strange how it had no affect on it. I saw the internals of one of the other two members' and it had less on the inside than mine.
Completely agree. However for me, it seems like all exhausts I'm looking at are crazy loud just for that cold start. I am not going for anything excessively loud and will be perfectly fine driving through my neighborhood, it's just I want to avoid that 430am wakeup call to my neighbors.
I'm sure it will be annoying to do on some days like if its raining. The cutouts are a great idea but I have some concerns. I don't think it's the same as having a good sounding exhaust. Where do you put it, before the resonator? Probably would be way too loud/raspy. Between the resonator...
You guys realize these don't stay on the car right? They are to quiet the cold start, so a minute, then take them off, put them in the trunk or house and then go on with your day. Let me guess, you guys are a "F#@& the neighbors I'll do what I want" type?
I posted this to help others in the...
Hello all. I've been looking to upgrade my stock exhaust for some time now, but being that a live in a condo unit and leave for work at 430am Mon-Fri, I was really hesitant about doing anything. I know I could do some tame options like a resonator delete and keep the stock mufflers or keep the...
I'm also in a similar situation. Stock 17 GT PP with 255/275's on 9/9.5" wheels. I don't need the staggered setup and my car is my DD so I'd prefer to be able to rotate. Just wondering what my real options are... buy two new 9" PP wheels to replace my 9.5's in the rear and buy four...
Ok thanks. Any recommendations for a decent A/S tire? I really only hear the summer performance tires being thrown around.. MPS4S, Conti ExtremeContact, Indy Firehawk, etc.
Quick question - When I had my winter tires on (Michelin Xi3's), and I rev'd it to about 2K and dumped the clutch, the tires spun nicely and the car left the line smoothly. When I do this with the stock Pzero's, they hop to the moon.
What are some good replacement tires for the Pzero's that...
So it sounds like if I prefer being able to rotate tires more than the additional grip and different look of the staggered setup, then at a minimum I would need to buy a 5mm spacer if I want to keep the same wheels to be able to rotate properly. Or I could buy two new 19x9 wheels and not worry...
I'm confused, that is the stock size. The stock tires are 255/40R19 on 9" wheels up front and 275/40R19 on 9.5" wheels in the back. Am I missing something?
Yeah I hear a lot of people run those. I've also heard Continental DWS. Used to run those on my Focus and I had no complaints. Probably wouldn't get a summer performance tire, not sure if either of those are but I don't have a need for it, if those cost extra.
Yeah no WOT yet lol. I'm...
