Is there a major difference in cold start volume between the Mach XV and the Mach Thunder? I'm thinking neither of these are really a 430am start up friendly exhaust.
I'm looking at the Solo Performance Mach Thunder which is roughly equivalent to the Borla Atak or MBRP Race. So not crazy loud but probably loud, on cold start. I'm probably overly worried as you say, but I think it's partially because I don't want to get the exhaust and then realize wow this is...
Yeah I definitely wouldn't be full open all the time so I guess that's something to consider if they rattle. Is it like only over a bump or something?
I guess I can try to find some muffler delete Mustangs near me and see.
I like how you don't care but you keep throwing in comments about the silencers in replies that are completely unrelated.
I've only heard one S550 muffler delete in person, but it also had catted headers and an x pipe, so I don't really know what just a muffler delete would be like. It gave me...
2-4k for what?
This one? Could you explain the actual process like how these get installed. You are adament about these but not telling me (someone who has never done exhaust work or access to a welder) how to get it set up. This looks like a piece of pipe with a flange. I don't know how it...
Thanks for the reply. I hear you. I have the Premium and I still don't want the hassle of retrofitting active exhaust and I don't like the Roush valence. I appreciate the replies by those on here who have given advice and suggestions. It's easy to come on here and say stay stock or who cares or...
Occasionally I will yeah, my head is right next to the wall and he's right on the other side of it, 20 feet away or so. It's a deep rumble.
Nah don't wanna stay stock and I don't like the 18+ years looks. Thanks though.
Like I said I understand I can pull in, I'm not being inconsiderate or refusing to do anything at this point lol. My concern right now is I want to try and get something working before I get the exhaust which I think is being a good neighbor. Rather than buying it and then dealing with it when...
Yeah, and I realize I could pull in and probably cut it down a little bit, but the bedrooms are on the 2nd floor so I'd probably still need a means of cutting down the cold start moreso than just turning the car around.
Yeah that is true, and it was noticeably quieter when I had that drop, at least from inside the car. Wish I could hear it from outside but I don't have a helper to start it for me. I also wonder how a 3-4 dB drop from 77 to 73 would scale to say a 95 dB aftermarket exhaust cold start... would...
So I stuffed more wool in there (switched to a coarse wool too) and it seems to have made it worse. Flow is escaping from the adapter that slides over the tip. However, I don't know if it was doing that before. I'm going to have to pull some out and see. I don't think I'm going to get better...
Realistically what would I need to do to get this active exhaust or cutout installed, how does that work? The QTP looks like a butterfly valve that opens and closes. Do you just cut the exhaust and weld that little piece in? How does it get wired? Is that different from an '18 active exhaust...
I was looking at fiberglass, but then I came across the ceramic packing that I have now. I have some thoughts about the way I'm using it. Right now I have it rolled in a circle around the outside of the PVC with steel wool filling the middle. I'm wondering if I just fill in the PVC with the...
Yeah completely agree. It is so bassy and resonates throughout the whole car. I've been in it at startup and idle and it is overwhelming. I don't think that will be the case for me.
