I also noticed how easily the paint flaked off. All the white areas in the picture on the pillar and roof edge are missing paint, plus its dented in those areas. I could literally peel the paint off the panel.

Its interesting that a few people have had it in the exact same spot. I am curious, for those who have or had hood corrosion what was your build date? Mine was Oct. 2014.

So what is it that happens when the evap core goes? Does it leak refrigerant or coolant, and will it leak on the floor of the car? Is the heater core inside this evap box too? Does your system make funny noises or just quit blowing A/C? I'm just wondering what to look out for. If this...

I looked up the part online and all I see is an "evaporator core case" which is around $500 Yikes....that's over a thousand dollar repair! :O

I had the same problem. They replaced my camera, but also repaired the wire. I read that there is a TSB for that wire...seems that it rubs on the edge when you open the trunk and the wire can break in that spot. They taped mine up too because they had to splice the wire but it looks neat...

You probably had yours done under warranty, but I'm curious how expensive the core would be to replace. Did they have to tear the dash apart? How many labor hours? My warranty is nearing the end and I am reading that a lot of people have this problem. I don't have it yet though.

Touching up is not going to help. Corrosion is like cancer. You have to get every cell of it or it will grow back.

Update: Ford has approved the warranty repair. They have to make an appointment for a couple weeks from now. Not sure exactly what the repair is going to be though.

A lot of my daily driving is highway commute so that helps with the mpg too.

You actually got that door latch recall done? When they sent me the letter some time ago it said they'd send me another notice when parts are ready - expected 2nd quarter 2017.

How many miles do you have? All your chassis parts look like it just rolled off the delivery truck! So clean! I wish I could clean mine like that.
