  1. Official: 2018 Ford Mustang Refresh Detailed! (Options/Features, Specs, Photos, Info)

No word on whether the 2018 will come with the Vibrating Drivetrain, a hidden feature that many discovered on the '15-'17 models. :D
  2. Low Pitched Grinding Sound When Turning

The weird thing is, over the weekend here in the south we had some wicked cold temperatures (20 degrees) and I did not hear the noise. Today it was 55 and I did not hear it.
  3. Low Pitched Grinding Sound When Turning

No, I haven't but I probably will soon. It feels to me like its getting worse. I really hate to start playing the no-problem-found service game so I kind of have to force myself to get it looked at.
  4. Vibration between 50 & 70 mph

But some people are reporting the problem almost from day 1 when the bushings are brand new.
  5. Vibration between 50 & 70 mph

Some people in this thread have had success in clearing the vibration while other have not, and various parts have been replaced or repaired. It would probably be helpful to do a round-up, make a list of what worked and what did not because so many different things have been tried.
  6. Inside Rearview Mirror Shake

Ok, so it seems like the stock configuration produces the right frequency of vibration in the car to make it shake but the new spring/shock setup changes it for the better.
  7. Low Pitched Grinding Sound When Turning

Wait.... the car was delivered from the factory with a low quantity of the wrong fluid in the trans???!!!
  8. Inside Rearview Mirror Shake

I don't have lowering springs. So, what's causing it is the vibration of the body of the car. Nice job, Ford. :/
  9. Vibration between 50 & 70 mph

There were only 98,800 Mustangs sold thru November - that is far less than some of the worldwide volume cars like the Fusion and trucks. So I think its even worse that all these units are having problems on a low volume model like this.
  10. Vibration between 50 & 70 mph

With all the buybacks just on this forum alone, not counting any people who did it who do not lurk on forums, you would think Ford has to be trying to come up with a fix and a recall so they don't keep losing money??? Just this thread alone represents a lot of buybacks and warranty labor hours...
  11. Introduce yourself!!

Its fun watching youtube videos of car factories....seeing how a sheet of steel gets stamped out, welded, painted, and assembled. A really cool process.
  12. Low Pitched Grinding Sound When Turning

Well after the service I think I can still hear it. If it is normal then why wouldn't I have heard it last winter when the car had 15k miles?
  13. What did you do to your S550 Mustang today?!

Replaced my cabin filter. 2 years/30k miles. Wow, its dirty!!! And this filter is the biggest pain in the butt to get to. My glovebox door is still not back right so I have to mess with it again.
  14. Can't Trade in Car because of Recall. Cant get it fixed either. Advice?

But I saw an ad from a dealer (forgot which brand) and it had small print saying they cannot guarantee that cars they sell do not have open recalls and it advises potential buyers to research recalls on it themselves. Mine is under the door latch recall too. So I won't be able to trade if I...
  15. Low Pitched Grinding Sound When Turning

I looked at my original window sticker and yes it does say limited slip differential. Most likely the clutch type since its not the performance pack or has the high performance torsen gear-type. So friction modifier is required. I wonder why they don't put this in the maintenance schedule?
  16. Low Pitched Grinding Sound When Turning

I took it into the shop and they said the tech heard the noise but that its normal gear noise. The only way to get rid of it would be to do the differential service, replace the fluid and he said they could add some friction modifier. When I said it did not make noise last winter he says the...
  17. 30,000 Mile Service - What Should Be Done?

I was at the dealer making an appointment and they tried to sell me a trans fluid and diff fluid change - $300+! I said that its not listed in the owners manual that way and they said the owners manual never lists proper service - trans & diff should be every 30k miles for "severe service"...
  18. 30,000 Mile Service - What Should Be Done?

Hmmm. Some recommend brake fluid changes. I was reading that brake fluid should be a light brown color and if it gets dark then its full of moisture. Maybe I'll have a look at that.
  19. Vibration between 50 & 70 mph

I don't think its a design issue because ALL Mustangs would be built the same way and vibrate - but some including mine don't. I think its a manufacturing process issue where some parts are not being lined up properly when assembled.
  20. Introduce yourself!!

I wonder if this one will vibrate when it gets up to 60mph like the real ones do. LOL
