  1. Official: 2018 Ford Mustang Refresh Detailed! (Options/Features, Specs, Photos, Info)

The 1990s just called. They want their spoiler back. LOL
  2. Official: 2018 Ford Mustang Refresh Detailed! (Options/Features, Specs, Photos, Info)

Love that color. Not so much a fan of those chrom-ey looking wheels. I'd rather have wheels that aren't so shiny, like the foundry type.
  3. NOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!

My Mustang required a front bumper replace/repaint due to a defect and I can tell you to make sure your shop is using the proper 3 stage for the paint!! Ruby Red is done with a tinted clearcoat to give it that pop. If they just paint it like normal you WILL see a difference when compared to an...
  4. Geico Went up $1600/yr

Interesting thread even though I am out of my Mustang now. Ive had State Farm for 20+ years and they just kept raising me on the Mustang every time. I live in Mississippi and have zero tickets or collisions and an 840 credit score. It was totaled on a Comprehensive claim. When I bought the...
  5. Vibration between 50 & 70 mph

I don't think so because there are some that did not have this problem. If it was a design issue they all would. Seems like its happening on various equipment packages and models including the V6 but my V6 didn't have it and it had the same parts.

The S197 Mustang had wheels with machined/polished rims and those were gorgeous. High maintenance though, because the balancing weights were clipped on and it was impossible to get them off without scratching the rim! Thankfully today most wheels have the stick-on weights inside.

Same here. I like contrast. My 15 Mustang was my first foray into painted with the Foundry wheels. These are the wheels on my post-Mustang ride. They're black but with bright machined face. Its a hell of a contrast.
  8. Botched Wiring Bundle Repair

Why is it not covered? did your 36mo warranty expire?
  9. Glad I wasn't driving a convertible...

This is interesting. I had a tree fall against my quarter and it was totaled with $13,000 damage. Some of the damage extended forward on the upper door surround and the Ford body shop told me that sectioning it is not an approved repair, the only approved way is to replace the whole thing and...
  10. Vibration between 50 & 70 mph

My '15 V6 auto had the rearview mirror shake from day 1 (188 miles on the odo). They were not able to fix it and I did not press further on that. Sadly, that is a "feature" of all S550s.
  11. Official: 2018 Ford Mustang Refresh Detailed! (Options/Features, Specs, Photos, Info)

That seems to be a trend (or a fad?) today. A lot of carmakers are selling black accent packages, some call it "Midnight".
  12. Official: 2018 Ford Mustang Refresh Detailed! (Options/Features, Specs, Photos, Info)

I hear ya. My '15 had several issues. I think my trunk alignment might have been a tad off but I didn't even care about that, there was worse stuff. My '17 Hyundai is made in Korea and the delivery quality was spot on - and this is not a high price point vehicle (although its probably a high...
  13. How do you avoid water spots when working outside?

The last couple days I've looked at the panel that I clayed/polished that left those spots in the picture and I can't see them now. I looked under bright sun at different angles and under artificial night lighting. They may still be there though. I am going to try one of those poly sealant...
  14. Comparing Turbocharged Engines

GDI engines have always had a problem with crankcase ventilation leaving buildup on the valves since there's no fuel flow in the intake to clean them so I wonder if this is part of the reason they would use more voltage to the plug - something to do with a more complete burn in order to reduce...
  15. How do you avoid water spots when working outside?

Ah! So maybe that's what I'm doing wrong. I'm using a protector but I need to deep clean it. Which Mothers product should I use? The other one is Meguiars M20 Polymer Sealant as you mentioned, the specs on it say it contains a "gentle cleanser" so that might work. Is Menz 3500 sold in...
  16. How do you avoid water spots when working outside?

I was calling it polish because I use Zaino and its not simple wax like Turtle Wax. Nevertheless, its not working. I washed it today (in the shade, kept it wet, then dried with chamois and microfiber towel) and treated one side is all I had time for. First I did the clay bar, lubed with some...
  17. How do you avoid water spots when working outside?

But the clay will remove any wax/polish protection too, right? I will have to polish it again right away then. I can't go thru that every week.
  18. Comparing Turbocharged Engines

I'm wondering why there's such a big difference between the Ford Ecoboost (as in the Mustang) and my new Hyundai 1.6T as far as maintenance goes. Both engines are direct injected. Both turbos. Hyundai calls for oil changes every 5,000 miles (they don't have an OLM) and here's the big one...
  19. How do you avoid water spots when working outside?

I tried the vinegar/water mix today and it did not help. Zaino Z6 makes it shiny and slick but spots are still there. Is there a good quick detail spray that would work?
