Hey guys. So I'm on a road trip, and I'm finding that the manual downshifts in D(rive) are a bit lacking for how long it holds the gear. Does anyone know of a way to extend that time? I have Forscan, and am planning on PCMTEC soon, but am hoping this is something I can do with Forscan.
Thanks...
I love that. I'm using a similar software for my DD right now, and it is insanely nice being able to make changes and upload them in seconds. I'm used to the old Cobb handhelds that would take anywhere from 10-20 minutes for a flash, until they released "Fast flashing" that cut times to 5...
This is where my issue lies. I have a two-step plan for the future, and that's 1) Keep it near stock on just flex fuel, until 2) piece together a mild centri setup and take it into the 9s. While I know I can pay a shop and get peace of mind for about twice the cost of the customOS suite, I also...
Sadly it's a little late for that, my stable has been backwards for a couple years and for some reason all the DD/winter cars have had a turbo, and all my fun cars have been NA. I've been doing a tiny bit of self tuning already, but it ingrained a fear in me that I'll typo a 2x.xx instead of a...
Okay those are some pretty awesome feats. The sensor-based E is a big thing for me, as I do a lot of road trips and ideally would always have the option to hit the yellow handle if it's there. The single-tap would also be awesome to have. 10 gears is a lot and I've found myself button-mashing...
Well I guess my core question is, how do you like it? Is it worth just going straight for it, or do you think someone still newish to self-tuning would be better off starting with the base software and working their way up? I am pretty sure I can handle it, but want to limit how overwhelmed I...
I've come across quite a few of your posts, and remembered seeing you in the flex fuel thread a while back. Do you feel like there's anything missing for your needs from customOS that isn't in the base version?
I'm looking to play around more with my car this summer, and am debating if I want to just pay a shop to do the tuning for me, or if it'll be worth it to pay the ~$700 for the customOS option and integrate it so I can get multiple maps and flex tuned in. Naturally I could just get the basic...
Hey all. I've been hunting for any information I can find on the basic GT500 spoiler without the gurney flap. My searching hasn't turned up anything useful, so I'm turning here for info.
Does anyone have any sources for drag and downforce measurements for assorted spoilers for our cars?
Thanks...
Any update on this? Forscan lists a few options relating to Lane Assist in their module config for the APIM, but nothing that overtly indicates what it does.
Also trying to see if it's possible to enable ACC with Forscan while I'm in there, but 'Adaptive Cruise Control' and 'Adaptive Cruise...
I've never had issues with plastic ones. I run them on my winter car, and the worst I ever had was the ring lodging on the hub and I didn't notice it before swapping wheels. Takes like 2 seconds to pull it off, and you don't need tools. It never seizes on, and I've had no issues with them at >150.
I'd definitely believe it, I've seen the performance from the sidelines, but I'm also obsessed with light weight. I had gotten my first 'fun' car(97 T/A) down to ~2900lbs with about 350whp and it was an absolute hoot. I've been broken ever since lol.
I am piecing together suspension pieces for...
I've been for the past 20 minutes haha. I was talking to him when they were still working with Lund on dev cars, hoping to get in early. I'm gonna have some hard thinking to do on this, my wallet ain't too happy with me right now
I just noticed in your sig you were able to get PCMTec's flex tune. How are you liking it so far? I was talking to Roland for a while about it then got radio silence, and figured it's a sign to keep stock til I have all my other parts in order haha
I haven't driven a Mach 1 yet, but having driven a couple C7s and having owned a C6 Z51, I can say without a doubt, the Vette is a whole different animal. The best description I can come up with would be the difference between slicing a steak with a steak knife vs a chef's knife. They both will...
Hey guys! What's the best deal anyone has found on headers for Black Friday/Cyber Monday? I was going to skip headers on this car, but after seeing(and missing) the XForce headers at AM, my interest is piqued again.
Tell us the lowest price you've found, and/or the best sale you've found on a...
It's been a blur of work the past few weeks, but I'm finally getting out tomorrow.
And yes, I've run a number of events the past few years. It's something I try to do when I have time to keep my skills sharp and to learn a new car.
Right now I'm stock as can be on alignment specs. I'm gonna...
Thank you for the idea, and I'll try it in a couple days when I take it out again. I skipped over 36psi when I did my test runs on the roads I drive, so I'll try it and see if it helps.
I'm talking about autocross, not drag strip. Airing the tires down gets you more sidewall flex, and puts you on the outer edges of the tire. Since you're taking corners harder than you would on an open track, you load the tires up far more than you ever would on the street, and need to maintain...
