The $3k figure was just a generalization. I am chasing good performance, but don't plan on going with a setup that can outdrive me. I may check out the FRPP struts and some lowering springs(I was thinking about the Steeda Ultralites) because something about mildly lowered Mustangs tickles me the...
The best way I would suggest would be AEM's V3 set up off the MAF, and for the failsafe, ground out the IMT sensor. It'll go straight to limp mode if something fails, you can disarm it and back the tune off, and you're all set
I do like those, but I'm worried about NVH. I know some people say there's none, but I put a lot of highway miles on with this, and my wife already isn't thrilled with how loud it is haha. I may pull the trigger, I just don't know yet. I'd have to ride in a car with them to see.
And you ain't my pal, friend.
If I'm being perfectly honest, I barely remember writing that lol. I do remember basing all my numbers off pure methanol, not a blend. As for your nozzle sizing, if you want to keep it simple, I'd say a pair of 500cc nozzles would cover you, because you can always...
I'm good lol. I've been at it for a couple years now and have done my share of trackside dialing, and there's not much in the stock suspension to adjust. I've already done my alignment, so that's not something I'm too worried about.
Sweet, thank you! I was planning on the stop the hop kit, but it comes in so many levels, and I genuinely don't know which to go with. I won't be dragging the car too often, and am targeting and end goal closer to obese supercar than highway bruiser, so I know I'll need some traction stuff, but...
That's fair. Like mentioned before, I'm chasing the little things now that can make a QoL difference. I'm still way new to this platform, but I'm used to other cars like Vettes that would have a night and day difference with a poly trans bushing, or Subarus that would smooth out with a...
Stuff I won't feel bad about throwing away later, it was pretty clear in the first post. Lol did you think I'm trying to find a full suspension setup for under $100? You couldn't pay me to drive on something like that.
I didn't leave a zero out. I'm not gonna put in suspension parts now just to replace them later, I'm looking for whatever little items can be easily improved. Every car I've had before had parts that were installed for NVH purposes that could be swapped for poly/billet equivalents that made them...
School me on this, what is the difference between something like this kit and the Steeda IRS bushing inserts?
Also, why is that better than full on poly IRS bushings?
Hey guys. I'm putting more and more miles on my car, and finding the little quirks it has that I need to change. While I'm waiting to go for a ride in a car with sway bars at a local track, I'm looking for some quality of life mods I can do in the meantime, and was hoping to get some knowledge...
Supposedly AEM's V3 nozzle is pretty good. I've had very good luck running it, specifically a 1000cc nozzle at a 1:1 ratio. No signs of droplets at lower duty cycles.
I think it can, but it will take a lot. I would hazard a guess your money may be better spent elsewhere, but I'm still way too...
I only did a quick google, but the Killer Chiller seems to accomplish the same thing, and I believe is more popular around these parts.
As for methanol cooling, it seems like a series of small injectors plumbed early in the intake tract could offer very nearly the same cooling benefits without...
That's pretty interesting. I know that meth can mess with catalysts, but I haven't played with it enough to know what would happen in the long the run. I like the concept, but with ethanol being on its way to being readily available, I feel like there are better options involving ethanol on the...
Kona's right, sounds like the driveline may have run low on acoustic dampening fluid due to abuse, so no warranty repair. The whole car is probably barely worth scrap at this point. If you need a hand getting rid of it I can help you out with removal, and since you seem like such a nice guy...
I'm curious about the failure, was it a stock cat or aftermarket? And how much/what blend were you spraying? A high enough content can throw off AFRs enough to really trip up the ECU, which could cause extreme rich conditions without the computer being any wiser.
This is just my 2 smelly...
While I agree, there may be lawyers involved soon enough and I don't wanna tip my hand. Once everything is settled I'll be more than glad to rip them a new one.
I may be wrong, but IIRC it's because the clutches on 7+ are smaller than the underdriven gears, and they don't enjoy being WOT shifted at high power. With 3.55s this tends to happen at 140, and 3.15s at about 155. Since most bolt-on boost guys don't really trap above those speeds, it's not...
Neither in my case. It's a company that claims to specialize in Ecoboost tuning after their bread and butter platform was discontinued about 10 years ago. If their tuning on another(very easy) platform is any indicator, I wouldn't trust them to tune a NA K20 to 200hp.
I'm planning on keeping the stock TC until it fails, as I've never had good experiences with street car and TCs. Mind if I ask why you say there's no multiplication? As I understand it, all TCs multiply the torque while unlocked.
Congrats on the PB by the way! I saw it in the fast list.
