Jayme, what kind of launch technique do you use? I have a Flex Fuel tune, CAI, BMR stuff and I went to the track last Saturday and used MT ET Street R 275/40-17 DRs for the first time. I have run several times with stock tires but this is my first time with the DRs. It was HOT, track temp was...
I went with BMR springs. 81 up front and 88 in the rear. The 81s are performance springs and drop it about 1.25" and the 88s are drag springs and only drop it about .50" and they didn't hurt my 60ft times. I ran 1.93 60 ft on stock Pirelli's.
Go to youtube and you can find how to do this. You go to logging and signals and select each signal you want to log by touching the star to turn it yellow. Pretty simple to do.
ngauge is hard to beat. You will most likely have good results from any of big tuners. I went with a Rob Shoemaker HP Tuner ngauge. Very pleased with Rob's tune! His customer service is outstanding and his tunes are top-notch!
Just got a budget drag setup for less than $600. 17x9 Bullitt wheels from American Muscle for $102 each and then a set of like new 275/40-17 M/T ET Street Rs for$375. Not bad!
That price is what you will see from everyone. Pretty standard. Same thing with tune updates, they're free as long as you stay naturally aspirated except for Flex Fuel tune which is $100. Rob Shoemaker is the man and you wouldn't be disappointed.
If you want NGauge and don't want to be locked into Lund you can go with Rob Shoemaker. He uses HP Tuner software. He is very experienced, can handle all your tuning needs from basic mods to twin turbos. He has an outstanding reputation and provides excellent customer service. You don't really...
I have a Rob Shoemaker tune on nGauge and my auto is a beast! It only shifts hard under hard acceleration but it nice and smooth when just driving normally. Doesn't matter if 93 octane tune or e85. Under full-throttle it will chirp tires shifting at 75mph! Love it! No drive ability issues at...
Thanks for the info WestCyril. Makes me feel better about going with the 275s. I think that is what I will do. I would be interested in your tires but shipping to Knoxville, TN from out west would likely be cost prohibitive. My zip is 37922 if you want to see what it would cost.
I appreciate the feedback Hyland. I'm going to be making a purchase soon and trying to do my due diligence so I make an informed decision. Is your car an auto? I know you said you run a 275 and you hook with those. I know where I am right now that those would probably work fine, just not sure...
Looking at the Bullitt 17x10.5" Bullitt wheels with a 6.8" back space and +28 offset on my 2015 GT. American Muscle has them listed under the 1999-2004 section. Thinking about using them for 305/45-17 M/T ET Street Rs. Not sure if they would stick out of fender well or not. Also considering the...
Excellent info. I will see how things go after I add my DRs. I plan to do a torque converter after the DRs and maybe the shocks will help after that. Thanks Kelly and bluebeastsrt for all the info.
