So after 25k miles, there are so many damned nicks and chips (20+) in the front fascia that I'm considering saying to hell with it and buying the Roush front fascia and plasting that clear vinyl 3M sh*t on it...
...but before I commit to that, 'cause it's damned pricey, I wanted to ask if...
I put on the new wheels and tires a little over a week ago, and I have some impressions from them.
Going from the stock 18" x 8" wheels, and the Pirelli P-Zero Neros, these were a tremendous improvement. The SVE GT350 wheels are a flow forged wheel, and are pretty light. Didn't notice much...
Take a look at this (some good crash vids in here):
http://www.abcactionnews.com/money/auto-news/video-detroit-muscle-cars-arent-so-strong-in-crash-tests
None of the cars got the "top safety pick" category, but the Mustang was only one test off from it. The Challenger performed far worse...
Okay... I'm looking for maximum street performance for the dollar. These crap all season P-Zero Neros are just tire spin city. No traction. Garbage, really. I live in Florida, so I can probably keep summer tires all year round. We only get a couple days each year under 50F (and I'll just be...
Saw a few threats about bolting on GT350 manifold and throttle body. If you buy them, are there any other parts you need to install them correctly?
And who has the best tune for that setup?
Already have catback... should I get catless headers too? Or not much diff?
Don't mind me, I'm just evangelizing here. If you are in Tampa/St. Pete area, Mustang Mondays are the first Monday of every month at Biff Burger (there's only one, google it). Open to all Mustang owners, any year/gen. Starts at like 6PM, but get there early, as parking spaces out front go quick...
Don't know if you all remember me, but I stirred up some trouble in here awhile back when I went from the Ecoboost to a GT in the space of like... two months or something. That, and I made ridiculously inappropriate fart jokes, sometimes about the Ecoboost (lol).
Anyway, coming up on a year...
The front fascia seems unusually prone to chips and scratches from general road crap. Either I've been particularly unlucky with this car, or there's an issue with it. 8000 miles and I can clearly see 10+ small chips, and one largish one that I had to touch-up paint over (and still looks like...
As some folks in this forum are already aware, I traded my Ecoboost Mustang in for a GT some weeks ago. The Ecoboost was a base automatic, and the GT is a base manual. My reasons for doing this were myriad -- I always wanted a V8 and, despite the Ecoboost's satisfactory power and good road...
My transmission has a little bit of that whine noise to it. No other problems shifting, as the transmission seems otherwise solid and good. But I've heard that MT-82 can be... twitchy so I thought I'd ask if it's a problem I should look at or not. The noise is similar to the noise this video...
Sooo.... since I switch over to the GT, I have to relearn the car, get it to the proper times, then use that as a baseline for further modding.
Right now the times are pretty bad. I have a thread where I'm discussing shifting & launching (since this is a manual transmission), since I believe...
I'm not going too crazy yet since the motor is breaking in. But the last stick shift I drove was a f*cking Sentra. So I never really picked up good manual launching habits. No point. I suddenly realized I don't really know how to do it well.
So... How do you launch for good 0-60, 1/8 mile and...
I couldn't go on without a V8 in my life. And so... I did what I kept saying I wouldn't do. Swapped the Auto Ecoboost for a Manual V8. Base trim. No options. Same color. Only ate about $1000 on the swap, thanks to Mustangs of America X-Plan pricing wiping out the usual dealer fees.
I'll post...
This is kind of just a rant. Make of it what you will.
I drop by a lot of local Mustang events. And some of the crews around here are cool. There's one group called "Pony Up" which is absolutely awesome.
But, unsurprisingly, there are a lot of other groups which are, charitably speaking, less...
100% serious post, despite the toilet humor. After owning the car a month and a half, I finally farted in it. I was on a long bridge and didn't want to wait until traffic cleared. I did, however, roll the windows down and make a general effort to avoid permanently polluting the car.
I imagine...
I didn't notice it until recently. Not sure if it's always been there and my music drowned it out, or if it just recently developed.
The rattle is coming from the rear of the cabin, somewhere in the vicinity of the rear, passenger side window. But I don't think it's the window itself. It's...
I have the Bama tunes (performance 93 octane and race 93 octane).
But I've had an itch lately to try out a different tune or two to see if I can break that irritating 5 second 0-60 barrier the car seems stuck at. Unleashed sells a tune file for my SCT X4 device for $150. Who else has the...
