Iv been working on installing a bunch of the final Steeda goodies this past week which will make my car “full Steeda catalog”. I’m a little nervous about their front adjustable end links and brake lines. First it’s appears the grease nipples would hit the back of the front shock (Steeda pro...
Started installing these today along with the posi quiet pads by ecentric, fronts went together great, rears another story. First pistons didn’t want to compress, even with line off and bleeder out. Got that solved, pistons fully compressed but with the thicker rotors & new posi quiet pads there...
Wrong choice of words ill admit, they are strong but when they do fail, they fail in a more spectacular fashion, taking the ring/pinion/bearings and everything else with it. When a Clutch LSD fails it just stops working (open diff) but doesnt destroy the entire diff.
I have about 10k on my 2016 Torsen, Its not as linear as a clutch LSD, this is most noticiable at low speeds in tight corners such as a parking lot. It feels like the rear end is binding, sometimes you can feel the inside tire sort of hopping/skiping a bit in otherwords its not allowing as much...
I saw the video, cant say for sure but he may have been refering to the 3.31 gears were better suited than the standard 3.73s on the Torsen.
Pros of the Torsen - 100% Mechanical, no clutch packs to wear out, effectively achieves full lock up under load, less heat/runs cooler=less prone to limp...
What do the intake valves look like for that hole? I'm still voting something got in there. passed the intake valves...sure, I had a small washer get passed the valve of a 2.8 V6 Ford motor in my Pinto Wagon mini derby car. Now in my case it didn't bust the piston, but the point is, it got past...
True, but didn't the power rating certification become tougher, meaning more conservative? I remember the 2005 4.0L Tacomas were rated at 245hp, a few years later after the certification changes, they were rated at 236hp with zero change to the engine or tune. So ratings 20 years ago were...
I still find it astonishing that people can call a 400+ HP car slow! 20 years ago 400+ HP was supercar territory, Anyway yes Power Pack 2 is phenominal for what you get.
Most HPDE Schools will make you do some manuvers similar to these on a skid pad before they let you on the track. They want you to feel/experiance the limits of your car in terms of breaking and grip. In other words they make you force the car into understeer, oversteer and brake lockup/ABS. In...
