How did you seal your intake? Replace w/GT 500 box? Made a lid? Tape? Etc.

I have Race Louvers and now my filter and Airbox are exposed to the elements
specifically how did you seal/enclose/cover your air box/intake?

Thought I could just put something flat over it but the filter sticks up above and seems it would not allow flat plexiglass or something flat to seal the box.
mine is a 2022.

My mach has the factory vents but the liner is blocked off on the filter side to "seal" and prevent the elements getting in. Do you no longer have the hood liner or is it different than mine? Mine is a UK model.

I think if you get the blue Ford Performance/Airaid filter, the diameter is reduced enough to fit under the plastic insert. The guy in Australia demonstrates in his video how he used the plastic insert for his Mach 1 but I ended up using a cheap take-off GT500 system and it was a simple drop-in with my existing Mach 1 air inlet tube and throttle body tube. The only modification required was to use a foam strip to seal the larger opening for the throttle body inlet tube and a cut-out to clear the relocated MAF sensor on 2022+ Mach 1.

I purchased a full Shelby GT500 cold air intake system off eBay ($200 shipped) so I could see exactly what parts are needed to integrate the GT500 air filter housing and air cleaner cover onto my 2022 Mach 1. As it turns out, since the Mach 1 has the full Shelby GT350 intake, the only parts needed to integrate the Shelby GT500 cold air intake system onto the Mach 1 is the air filter housing (KR3Z-9A612-A) and air cleaner cover (KR3Z-9661-A). All the hardware from the Mach 1 air filter housing transfers to the GT500 air filter housing which includes the air cleaner cover bolts (W711061-S437). In addition, the Mach 1 inlet duct fits onto the GT500 air filter housing.

the last picture showing the underneath of the hood and engine is the first hood which they somehow with multiple videos, yellow highlighted instructions and me showing the 2x with the proper orientation and placement put them too far back towards the windshield. The 2nd hood is the same with no insulation.

Yeah, can see some big ass gaps based on yours. The only other thing I can think of for the OP is maybe one the sealed and "tuned" air box options. Not sure of his set but guess non standard anyway, so as long as the inlet tubes the same size in theory one of the sealed units should work? Just guessing though.

Or a pre filter from Outerwears.com. I run one on my closed air box just to keep the cone filter cleaner.

I put the GT 500 Airbox and lid in. It is almost identical to the stock Mach, but with out the lid. It was easy. I am disappointed about the lack of a true seal though. The lid does not seal on the Airbox. I hope it doesn’t suck hot engine compartment air in. At least it will keep enough water out. I don’t know if it not sealing air wise matters.
