The scam calls have increased recently to about 10 a day. They all seem to be about Medicare, which seems odd. I can't figure out what they would do with my Medicare info (which they aren't going to get from me). I occasionally talk to a live person from India and have fun feeding them BS until they hang up on me.

Spam calls seriously turned into a nightmare for me after a bad weather event in my area a couple years back. I did the usual, signed up for DNC lists, blocked numbers, kept my info private everywhere, but the local spoofed numbers just kept coming and honestly, it felt like nothing worked much. Even ignoring calls or asking to be removed didn’t have a huge effect because the next batch pops up right after. I started reading more about how these calls are regulated and found that some businesses actually use stricter standards to avoid turning into those “ambulance chaser” types. It was interesting to find out about TCPA-compliant voicemail drops, which are designed for legit outreach without annoying the heck out of everyone. If more companies stuck to those, it would actually make a difference.

I recorded a spam call about the "new medicare benefits" that I play back when they switch to a live person for me to talk to. I also have a recording from a robot in Fallout 76 that I play for them. After they hang up on me I leave the phone on. Nobody calls me on it anyways.

ATT has a free app called Active Armor. Seems to work pretty good.
