I always try to get to the line to get to the gate by 7:30 and recommend you plan to get there as early as you possibly can. The line will already be well away from the showfield and slowly creeping along. Choosing your spot can mean a lot depending on where your class is located. There will be food available for breakfast so plan on eating at the showfield and that early start will allow you to see some of the display cars and get great pictures before the crowds block everything.Driving in Friday night... I see registration opens at 7AM Saturday and the show starts at 9. I'm in the blue field in 540. Advice on what time to arrive to get a good spot? Although I checked a satellite view and every spot in that section looks identical so it might not matter if I get there at 6 vs 8:00.
yeah, I was checking that out and it looks like our section is literally right next to the gate. Awesome!BIG NEWS!! They have opened a new Gate 6 Access from Cavalry Road on the East side of the show field. This is for cars that are pre-registered in Blue, Yellow, and Green areas of the show field. See this video for info Gate 6 Access for 2026 Ford Nationals . For those of us near Gate 6 that does mean we will be getting a lot of traffic in and out at that end which I suspect will slightly change my plans for where I want to park my car.
If you are coming from the North (Mechanicsburg) like I do, I can just stay on surface streets by starting on Trindle Road, then Army Heritage Road, then E. North Street to Post Road and finally Route 11 to Cavalry Road.To you have to approach gate from a certain direction ? Last year I was using Google maps. I had to make a left into fairgrounds at gate and they were not letting you. Had to go past and turn around and come back and make a right. Waste of time in heavy traffic.
That is awesome!!! Have been missing that gate the last couple years!BIG NEWS!! They have opened a new Gate 6 Access from Cavalry Road on the East side of the show field. Just be careful not to get caught selling stuff out of your trunk or passing around parts for sale flyers. I've seen a few people get the boot from the fair grounds when seen by staff.@Mikepol2 I was going to mention a bunch of parts I'm bringing but didn't want to get spanked by the mods for not listing with pics and a piece of paper with my name on it. Carlisle is a great spot to meet up and parts swap.
