Will earlier Gen Coyote block work with Gen 3 heads ?

There are no issues using a Gen 3(5.0 or 5.2) block with Gen 2 heads in 2015-2017 ‘s . As said above just use the 2 knock sensors in the same position as a Gen 2 block .

What head gasket do you use though for gen 2 heads ? Do you just use the gen 2 5.0 gasket ? Like you do for gen 3?

Run the head gasket that works with the cylinder bore. Shoot for .030 to .060 larger than cylinder bore. Also ensure that the oil feed hole is compatible with the heads you are running.
