I was looking to add a Viofo dash cam to my 2019 and was wondering if I could pick up a 12v source from the interior light assembly or the rear-view mirror. It would be nice to have a quick-connect right there or do I need to run wires to a 12v power port (prev known as cig lighter) Thanks for any advice

To be safe I would run a power wire from a fuse tap in the passenger side fuse box. Very easy to do. You will need a constant hot and a hot that comes on with your key.

Originally I tapped into my mirror using this
12v to 5v Converter
It did take some electrical wiring skills to adapt wires.

I use an easier method now, but it doesn't come from the mirror or the fuse panel. It comes from the OBDII connector and because of the switch, when I want a longer-term parking I can flip the switch to constant power.
OBDII-to-5V Power
I was able to route/tuck the wires out of sight using a plastic tool commonly used with automotive trim.

I have an adapter like the Dongar one shared upthread, and it works perfectly for the dashcam in my 2015. If you have the frameless mirror or sensors on the top of your windshield you will need to find a DIY wiring solution though.

I think I saw a product on here, a sort of T-harness that goes between sockets in the overhead panel that tees off to a USB power outlet?

EDIT:
It was in a for-sale post. No affiliation:
