So honestly im a little pissed off. I took my new rims and tires to get mounted. They got them done in a couple hours. Didn't pick them up until 2 days later as I was sleeping when they called (3rd shifter). Picked them up on the next Monday. I was too excited to be able to get the wheels coated and install them. So they sat in the truck for a couple days until I could offload them to where I'd be doing the ceramic coat. I just noticed, obviously after the excitement of collecting the wheels, that they used silver wheel weights on gloss black wheels.

From my eye it sticks out like a sore thumb. I don't get why they didn't use black wheel weights on the rims.

Opinions accepted, should I call them and see if they can change them out and rebalance the wheels or just call shops to see if they can rebalance them with black weights?

I’d call them and ask if they can switch them out for black weights. I just got new tires on my black wheels and I specifically asked that they use black weights. They had to check to make sure they had some (they did), otherwise I was going to make them wait until they got some in

In the meanwhile...black electrical tape will cover them up.

My original black wheels came with silver weights, taped them off and painted them. Easy fix

I have taken care of this issue with either Sharpie marker or Duplicolor super cheap touch up paint. No taping off. Easy.

I use black nail polish from the dollar store. Brush inside the cap makes it easy.

But yeah, add that to the list of annoyances from the tire shop:
  1. Silver weights on black wheels.
  2. Losing your valve caps.
  3. Lifting the car at inappropriate spots
  4. Careless when putting wheels on or off and scratching the finish.
  5. Gouging the rim by setting the tire machine claw improperly.
  6. Installing random TPMS sensors even though you handed them a new unopened package of four.
  7. Unable to program the TPMS even though they have the proper tool.
  8. Mounting tires in wrong rotational direction or swapped inside/outside.

Brake dust will take care of that for you in no time. I put black Gorrilla tape over the weights on two of my wheels then got lazy and left the other two alone. After a few hours of driving, it's hard to notice the bare weights anymore.

They can balance them without any weights on the visible parts of the wheel. My tire guy does this for me every time. I'd find a new shop who will do it correctly for you!

9. Dropping your car off at Towne Faire Tire for a few hours and finding out a few days later the tech took the car for a hot lap behind the mall….then having the manager lie to your face when confronted….needless to say I now go elsewhere and wait.

The problem I have is that there are good techs and there are those that don't care. Like they assume you either don't know things or you also don't care.

Try to get the caring one on your car, but also watch them work. I even announce myself as a Car Guy with OCD.

The last time I went to my favorite store they committed the first 7 sins.
They paid me $25 for the lost tpms sensor plus 187 for alloy wheel repair.

I owned my own tire business for ten years and they are lazy and stupid; I would have never let a car leave my shop like that I painted the weights to match the rims. With all the fast dry paints out there, it only takes a few minutes to spray them, and you do it at the begging of the job so that when you get to balancing the paint is dry the same with metal valve stems should match the color of the rims. Details COUNT! I retired in 2018 and I still have people wanting me to start the shop back up. I say take it back and make them do it right at their cost. They will do it again if you don't bitch. I hate incompetents, and it is everywhere now. No pride in workmenship!
