Hey guys so it was something I was up in the air about for a bit, but the dealer that sold me my f250 shot me a text this morning saying they just have 0% financing and 1,000 trade assistance in my region.

They have already offered me 43k for my challenger which is my payoff so that will be a wash.

The MSRP of the car I am looking at is $47k. Its a 2019 gt premium a10 with B&O, black appearance and a few other little things. What would be a good price to pay for this PRETAX? I love this dealer but I also will look and see what other cars are out there so curious to see what others are paying at this point. Is 10k off msrp a bit much to be expecting? I am also a new york city firefighter so I know i get a $500 first responder rebate which is a little bit.

cant wait to get back into the mustang family ! Have a 68 gt500 at home and previously had a 2010 & 2012 gt.

price of car WITH freight included, should be at least 20% off MSRP. I'd shoot for another 2-3% off.

Why are you getting rid of the Hellcat? The 19 A10 is going to obviously not be as fast.

Don't get ne wrong, I have an 18 A10 and love it, but that blower equipped HC is a hoot.

honestly im at 950whp and my plans are to do the same for the mustang. Ive always been a ford guy, i got the hellcat cause it was cheap to make big power with. I have a fuel system and a pulley and im at 950whp.

as far as why I wanna get rid of it, the cars an m6. The m6 in the hellcats is geared terribly. I was gonna throw a mantic triple disc and have rpm build snd regear the trans but thats gonna cost me over 7k. At that point im at the same price point as throwing a blower on the 5.0

I had a 2012 SRT8 with the 6-speed manual, and traded it in on my 2016 GT/CS with the auto. The Challenger looked better on paper (specs), but I like my Mustang a lot more.

That's a great deal if what you posted in your original post is a go.
I say go for it!
I got almost 40k for my previous car and 0% financing for the new one. Pretty much half paid off before taxes/fees/enclosed shipping. I wasn't passing that deal up!
Good luck!

Honestly, I wouldn't pay more than 37-38 for that car.

I've seen base GTPP1s going for 35k, so add in a few more for premium but take away the PP so high 30s should be doable.

Im gonna shoot for 43k out the door on this blue car thats a 47k msrp. My tax in nyc is 8.875 and i have 1400 of inequity from the challenger. Realistically looking to get the car for 38 + tax and call it a day. With the 0% itll drop my month payment by 110$ and i can sell all my parts off the challenger and start building the mustang. Also the 8k i was gonna spend on a new trans and clutch for the hellcat pays for the stage 2 whipple. So the money I get for parts off the challenger should finish my build. Plan is to have it done by april

“So we just did the numbers and we are at around $47,000. That’s giving you all the money for your trade, ripping our car out at below invoice, plus the $1000 trade assist and $500 first responder rebate. Invoice is $45,073 on this particular car. Don’t get me wrong it’s still a hell of a deal but there is no way we could realistically get to $43,000 using the the 0% as well.”

This is an exact copy and past from the text from my dealer. Obviously not pulling the trigger at 47k, but shouldnt they be discounting way below invoice or is that not possible with the 0%?

do yourself a favor and source your own financing. Then you have a card to play. But in the short term, tell them to get stuffed. They can smell a sale and like blood in the water, they're going to hang on to maximize their profit. Then look farther afield.

I was looking at a F150 and the dealer was holding out for 70% of MSRP + freight+ttl on 6 different units built in october of 2018. I had countered with 66%. Then I surfed over to another local dealership that had them priced at 65% and theirs were July-Sep 2019 builds, not 1yr+ old. I then promptly sent the listing to the original dealership with a "did you really think you could dick me over?" email.

I did lose like 3k of incentives when opting for the 0% 6 yr financing, but my entire total came out to around MSRP including tax, title transfer, all fees, also wheel and tire protection package and GAP insurance. I think the 0% is still worth it considering youd most likely be paying like 4% for a 72 month loan. 4% interest on a 42k car for 6 years is over 11k in interest and youd be paying a total of 53k.
