Might be too soon, but any 2019 GT350's encounter any issues?

It's due to the gear ratio... 6th is 0.63 to 1.
It's an "overdrive" gear ratio.
It's kinda like putting your old 1974 Schwinn 10 speed into 10th gear when your not moving very fast.

I just picked up my GT350 and have no issues with it. I had a 2017 GT350 and had no issues with it up to 8K miles and a year of ownership and I drove the piss out of it. It had the usual shifter rattle/buzz because of the flat plane crank engine vibration. The panel fit and finish on this one is much better than my older one. My '17 loved oil to the tune of every 2500-2800 miles which is surprising with today's technology but then listening to that engine hit 8200 RPM makes it all worthwhile.

The powertrain on my 2019 GT350 is, best I can put it, “grumbly” below 2000 rpm. Is this just me? At 62 mph on my county highway on my way to work it drives me crazy. Have to down shift to 5th to get revs upto get it to go away. No problem in 6th at higher speeds. Do they all do this or should I see the dealer for service?
Do you do a lot of driving below 2K RPM? I consider 2K to be the bottom of the power band, and downshift if I get below that while driving. But, I get terrible MPG (< 14), so maybe I should be driving it below 2K. I do get below 2K at idle, and dont really notice the grumbly sounds you mention.

Check the pushpins underneath the side skirts/rocker panels under both doors. They cause resonance under 2k RPM. Press up on them to seat them in place securely.

Same here and this is my only car so I obviously daily it. I am always >= 3k RPM. My gas mileage average is around 12-13 mpg. I go barely above 3rd - 4th in the city and 6th is just a lug-the-engine gear. Even when I’m at 70mph and I want to accelerate to 75, I don’t feel comfortable doing it in 6th. I downshift to 5th. Maybe I’m overthinking I don’t know.

Thanks for replying! I usually am above 2K around town or on the freeway, but the engine is turning over around 1800 rpm when loafing along in 6th gear at 62 mph on a rural highway with a 55 speed limit (which is most of my commute). I should clarify that it is only when the clutch is engaged - no untoward noise when I am in neutral or idling - so rather than describe it as a powertrain noise it would be more accurate to describe it as a transmission noise.

Thanks for replying! I checked the pushpins early on after reading the GT350 basics sticky. Double checked them just now and they’re still snug. I too daily it (but can grab our Mini if needed instead) and intend to road trip it. I agree the engine invites downshifting! Love that!

The GT350 supplement says 6th is OK above 43 mph, so I am confident 6th at 62 mph should be fine. Based on the responses so far, it sounds like “they all do that” may not be the situation here. Maybe it is time to go back to the dealer...

Anybody noticing some piston slap around 2500 to 3000 rpm that seems to go away when the engine gets warm?

A bit off but when I had my 2016 and 2017 GT 350 guess was lucky neither had piston slap. I'd bought new a GTO in 2005 and when cold especially in winter I'd drive slow for about a block cause it would knock and then quit.

I should have mentioned it makes the same noise in other gears when below 2K rpm. I first noticed it in 6th because I’m at a steady speed under 2K for much longer than when using other gears.

I luv my 19 but I detest the Tremec 6th gear ratio. It is the one thing that Ford F'd up on these cars! There should not be any over drive ratio on a Shelby period end. My 2003 M5 pulls in every gear including 6th, Porsche doesn't do this. WTF were they thinking? Not only does shifting into 6th sux but if you are in sports mode the exhaust sound is lost as well. So far my only complaint is this. I would pay to have a gear ratio change if this is what is needed. Gonna reach out to Tremec as well...this bites!

I like 6th gear and I like that it gets quiet on the highway. I've had cars that are so obnoxious I had to wear earplugs driving to/from the track... fun in some ways but it gets old sometimes.

Where are you driving that you need it to pull in 6th gear? top of 5th is about 175 right?

The sound at 80 or 90 in 5th is just fine...not too loud IMHO. I wish 6th sounded like this... at 70mph shifting into 6th is even worse....car feels totally detuned and lost...sorry it is just stupid and irritating to me...having driven German cars for the past 15years...this is my only complaint.

I can't recall what it's called, but some sort of plug n play deally that overrides the signal to the exhaust flaps to keep them open all the time.
