That testing facility is like 25 minutes from where I live. I remember passing it all the time on 29. I need to start going there for some take off parts :)

What was the point of paying more for ruby red lol
Don't forget those premier trim seats either.
I'm pretty sure that the cars chosen for this are done so at random, not a specific model pre-destined for testing. So it just so happened that the car chosen had those options.

Otherwise, if manufacturers got to choose which exact vehicle was sent for testing then it could be that they would make it extra safe just to get a better grade.

Nothing special yet
Exactly. Some bean counter is getting canned.
It may have given the best contrast / image on their cameras in their testing facility. Others might have been too bright or dark to see as much detail. If it's nothing to do with that, yeah, why pay extra?

That small overlap test is brutal, it bypasses most of the crash structure on most cars, personally while it will help us develop safer cars it's pretty much a worst case scenario if a car hits at about that angle on a completely immoveable object. Although the interior looks to be in decent shape save for the drivers legs looking like they'd get crushed.

The paint is a higher quality then the ones you dont pay for
Yes, the tinted clearcoat is expensive. The point being, they could have crashed a cheap white one and learned just as much . . . .

The blood from the crash test dummies won't show as much with the Ruby Red.
