"Dalton Winkler’s 2016 Mustang GT was already revved up with a custom intake cams" not sure how many hp these are worth as part of that 770hp?
I'm giving probably 10-20hp to the Cams. People have made 800 on a stock stock engine. Relatively same boost.

I seen a long list of other parts that were changed. But what is really needed to don't break @ track?

Did you changed the oil weight?

If you are that afraid of breaking... don't go to the track.
I'm not afraid. In the product description there are words like "street", "safe on stock", "warranty" and in my understatement it means there is a really very low risk to break.

But then I found topics like this with tons of aftermarket components for performance and reliability. So, what is the true story? :D:D :paddle:

I tend to go overboard on my stuff lol. I just decided to do all that other stuff since it was right there. the only thing that you could see power from is my cams, and that's probably 10-20hp. You could run this kit on a STOCK ENGINE no problem. And I run 5W-50.

But should I?

Interesting... you didn't had any issue with ti-vct?
There are a lot of guys going fast with stock engines. I've seen a few trapping over 150 MPH. That question is really only answered by one person (you). But in all reality it depends on how car you want to push it. If we are talking about 10-11psi, I wouldn't worry about anything except finding the next straight away lol. The calibrated kit has a 3 year/36,000 mile warranty.

How many psi does the 15865? This is the kit in my radar. It is only a question of when :frusty:

Can I ask why do you recommend the stage 2 and what's the differences between the street one?

On many websites both kits have the same description and contents. Probably a massive copy paste so it is hard to understand the differences. Even the images are always the same

Looking deeper, on edelbrock's website the stage 2 is stated as not 50 state legal and on one ecommerce that there is a smaller pulley. How it is possible that they have the same level of boost? :hail:

Many of our retailers do not have the best info on their sites. We are working little by little to clean that up.

Please let me clarify.

15865 is a "Stage 1" kit that uses the stock air box and stock throttle body. The Stage 1 kit has a 3.25" pulley producing about 10psi with our provided calibration. 47lb injectors are also included to meet the required fuel demand. This kit is currently 50-State legal with CARB EO D-215-97

Stage 1 Specs
  • 690hp/588tq (flywheel)
  • Stock throttle body/stock airbox
  • 3.25 pulley/10psi
  • 47lb injectors
  • 50-State legal

15864 is a "Stage 2" kit that has an upgraded air intake system with 95mm MAF housing vs the stock 88mm housing. This kit also includes a Ford Racing 90mm throttle body vs the stock 80mm to take full advantage of the 90mm supercharger inlet. The Stage 2 kit uses the same 3.25" pulley and makes about 11psi due to the increased airflow from the air intake and throttle body. This kit now comes with a plug and play fuel pump fitted with a Deatschwerks 400lph pump and also includes Deatschwerks 78lb/hr fuel injectors.

Stage 2 Specs
  • 731hp/588tw (flywheel)
  • 95mm MAF
  • 90mm Throttle Body
  • 3.25" pulley/11psi
  • Plug and play fuel pump upgrade with DW400 pump
  • DW 78lb/hr fuel injectors

That’s rather conservative, most with the intake only cam see 15-20 N/A & 70-80 with a SC. I’d be interested to see when you guys install the same package on another car without the intake cams

Here is an example of a car with a similar setup with stock cams. It's running more boost than Dalton's car but with less timing.

NMRA Edelbrock Racer Miles Wagoner teamed up with Triangle Speed Shop and turned our Stage 2 2650 kit into a 9 second ET capable monster! They used our optional 8-Rib Belt Drive kit PN 15879 and converted the car to run on E85.

The results were an astonishing 787whp and 700wtq on about 17psi. This is on a stock 2015 long block with billet oil pump gears so they stopped there.

The car ran a 9.88 @ 139 during testing. With some suspension tweaks they feel the car will perform even better.

This new 2650 is an absolute torque monster!
