Spring install question

I just got my set of springs in, I've watched and read all of the installation videos. I feel pretty competent with doing the fronts as long as I can get the bolts out. As for the rear since I don't have a lift I plan on following the BMR instructions, is there a video for that method? I can't seem to find one anywhere.

Rears are very easy. I know there are a bunch of YouTube videos for spring installation for this car that show you how it's done. Have to remove a couple subframe bolts on each side which allows the subframe to drop and the spring can be removed.

That method looks easy but without having a lift it seems impossible. I'm referring to the BMR method that does it by loosening the LCA

I think CJ Pony has a good video for the Steeda springs. Did my rears in about 1-1/2 hr. *Backed car on race ramps * Jacked under rear center and set rear on jack stands* removed race ramps and chocked front wheels* 1 side at a time support rear under spring perch *unbolt shock top bolts and brake cable support* remove front and rear bolts holding rear to frame with small bracket on front and slowly lower jack and remove jack * use 2x4 to pry down pull spring out and then reverse. Make sure you don't pinch any wiring when you are prying. Jack the rear back up and start bolts by hand not to cross thread before using any force or impact.

This is the easiest way to do the rear, they come right out. Depending on which exhaust you have, You may have to drop your exhaust down if your sway bar hits the exhaust pipe when you pry down on the rear subframe. If it does hit just on bolt the hangers on the side your working on.

This is more/less what I did too. It was super easy.

Loosen the cradle bolts, a brake line bracket and it comes out really easy. No need to mess with the control arms.

I just put my car on ramps to take a look at it. You mean jack it up by the differential? Do you put the jack stands in the normal jacking spots? Thanks for the help

Yes I start on ramps so I only have to jack about 1" to get the Jack stands under it using normal jacking points for stands

Just put in the rears today and it was super easy following your instructions. Only had issues with the Eibach bump stops not going on very easily. Also had to drop echaust to get more room to remove springs. Thanks [MENTION=17443]SmokedSS[/MENTION]

Easier to get the bumpstops on if you use some wd40 or something to lube them a bit.

Yea I realized that I'm missing a few things in my garage when I did this wd40 being one of them. I just slid them on the strut backwards a few times to widen them

Can the rears be done without dropping the cradle? After installing the lockout kit and the battle I had with it I'd rather not even think about removing the cradle if possible.

I just did mine today. Was apprehensive about dropping the subframe, but 7 bolts a side, pull it down, pull spring out, insert, raise up, bolt together. Was really easy.
