I feel like I read a lot about install difficulty and directions of valves and all that nonsense, main reason I've put it off.You should bro. I was like UGHHH. Im glad I did it.
but it is worth the time.I feel like I read a lot about install difficulty and directions of valves and all that nonsense, main reason I've put it off.
Nice! We are finally starting to see customers put mileage on the catch can kit. Results have been very positive. Thank you very much for the feedback! This is what I collected after 5000 miles.
We are working on a direct-fit setup for the GT as well.Makes me want to install one on the 5.0. I heard 5.0s don't have as much as the EB.
The process is actually quite simple and well worth the time. Shoot us a PM if you need some insight or advice.I feel like I read a lot about install difficulty and directions of valves and all that nonsense, main reason I've put it off.
Lol, yeah looks like a Cappuchino, but I'm not sure the taste will win any contests!Hey at least the EBM make Cappuccino
Seems the biggest hassle was with the PCV nonsense causing our smoke issue (since you're in the same area to install the catch can anyway).I feel like I read a lot about install difficulty and directions of valves and all that nonsense, main reason I've put it off.
I been wanting to purchase 1 for my ecoboost but the installation seems diff. and long..
might still get it and deal with the installation lol..
great photo though my eco needs this in its life!!!
The installation is not as daunting as some make it seem. As long as you have a basic mechanical aptitude, you should have no issue installing this kit. Installing the hoses from under the car will make things a bit easier if you have larger hands. We estimate around 30-60 minutes for a full install. We've got an installation guide on our site that helps guide you through the process.Seems the biggest hassle was with the PCV nonsense causing our smoke issue (since you're in the same area to install the catch can anyway).
I haven't seen any reason to believe the install is that hard. Unless you're a massive guy. All should be accessible from the top.
Interesting. I recall some of the "Sand" buildup within the 6.0L cooling system was due to poor casting process with the blocks. This would then block up heat exchangers as it passed through the cooling system.I'm using one too (Mishimoto). Have been since @1500 miles now at 25K.
Seeing yours and Glenns posts about a granular, sandlike substance in the bottom has me curious. I've not been getting that kind of buildup. Sure I'm catching the oil in similar quantity but not the grit.
So my first question would be what brand and weight of oil are you using?
Back in the 6.0 (diesel) days guys were seeing sandlike substances accumulate in their cooling systems. It was due to silicates in the coolant crystallizing in the EGR cooler. Obviously that's not the issue here but it does make me wonder where the "Sand" is coming from.
