Well it is all about money to me and getting older. The V8 is a kick ass car with every option available - lots of power. I just traded in my 1997 SVT cobra vert on a V6 vert auto?
Why- I am 60 been there done it all Mods , now my knee is not the best went with a auto. This car to me is the best looking Stang since the sixties, price wise V6 is a great deal .
HP wise it is no dog if you compare it to older stangs. I am finally over the small P_nis thing
Enjoy your car, HP is fun but it can be very addictive. My biggest problem with the V6 is the lack of a premium options? Still cheaper adding leather , wheels etc than a V8

Lets be honest here, the only thing my car gets compliments on (besides the color) is the pony projection lights. I don't care if your car has 300 hp or a supercharged V8. 99% of the people only care about those pony projection lights.

As a 22 year old, everyone in my generation views the V6 as the rental car or the high school girl's car. Honestly I didn't want to be known as the dude that had a V6 mustang.
A lot of people in that generation will bash a V6 Mustang....then ride away in their civic/prius/FIT/sentra/etc...
Look at it like this, if an V6/EB owner eventually trades up to the GT because of what others have said, what really happens? Well you now have a stronger car, you post it on the forums and everyone says congratulations nice car....then maybe 2-3 of your guy-friends will be like damn nice V8.... then nothing else really special. Other drivers on the road will just see your car and see it as a Mustang not really caring if its a V6/EB/GT.
A Mustang is not a Lamborghini, if you buy a Lamborghini, something special happens, everyones wants to take a picture of it, ride in it, girls want to hang out with you, etc... if you buy a Mustang GT because of an insecurity, your buddy Teddy will want to ride with you.

If high school girls are driving around in a late model Mustang v6, then high school boys have to one up them and get a late model Mustang GT. The solution to this arms race is to get high school girls into more conservative cars. I recommend India's Tata Nano

As a 22 year old as well, all my friends view the ecoboost the same way as you view the V6...
Fair enough. Different friends from very different parts of the country.

Considering the category "I4 Turbo", you enter the field of Subaru WRX, Focus ST, VW GTI, and Hyundai Genesis 2.0T. None of those cars are exactly boring or exactly your rental/high-school girl's car.

I guess it would require one to not view the mustang as a muscle car through and through, but to simply view it as a sports car.

As a younger than all of you by a lot, who cares? I make thousands of dollars feeding the ego and narcissism of my generation, and more specifically people like you. Does anyone else smell burnt clutch?

Never understood why adults get riled up over what someone else thinks. I used to rile up my little sister by saying the most silly, ridiculous things while we were growing up. Gave me a laugh to see her get so annoyed. Nothing of what I said mattered or was even really true. I just did it because she let it annoy her. And then we both grew up.

It's buying status, social proof. Instagram likes, follows, twitter retweets, favorites, etc. I really do wish I lived in a different time.

Guess I was close ... gotta have the coolest new device to play like a boss in that world. Yeah, it seems everyone wants to be "liked and recognized" more then ever these days ... they all want to be "celebrities". Can't even drive without drooling on their phone for the next Instagram message. Glad not all are sucked into that abyss.

Everyone cares what everyone else thinks. Makes the world go round. If we didn't care, we would all be living in a van down by the river

If social status is really important to you. Dont get a Mustang, save up for a corvette. No one worships you for having a Mustang, everyone will love you for having a vette.

And then you both grew up... you still say the most silly, ridiculous things (at family events) and she still gets annoyed.

You know she hates you, right? :D
