Hey all,

I don't now anything about this so please fill me in on what I should look for/expect to pay.

My 60 foots are sacking on 315 nitto invos, so I'm looking to get some rims and slicks or drag radials. I'm thinking of getting drag radials to put on my car drive to the track make a few pulls go home, put street tires back on. Any thoughts/guidance? I put dss drive shaft and half shafts in but still worried of something breaking.

Can anyone educate me or point me towards some links to help me? Thank you

or you could go 18x10.5 HRE ff15 with Nitto NT05R 315/40-18

Those HRE's look pretty sweet!

Only issue is I'm trying to keep costs low. I've spent soooo much money on this car lol, this is like a final piece.

My last time at track cut a 2.4 60 foot. If I can get that down, should be a really nice run.

Welds are the best but pricy. I run welds on my 95. Drag stars are a cheap alternative.

I'm seeing all these rims for like $250 a piece. Not normal to find any cheaper huh?

If I look on craigslist; is there anything I can look for spec wise to know they will fit?

Is there a performance advantage going with a 15 over an 18 or 20 even?

The smaller the wheel, the more sidewall, the better you will hook. (generally speaking)

The smallest you can fit on the S550 is a 17" wheel.

You can budget shop on CL etc...but most people find like 17x8 or 17x7 wheels....and throw a tire on it that is too large.

I believe in doing it the right way. In this case, you are going to want to use a 17x9.5" or 17x10" wheel with a properly sized Drag Radial...that is preferably 27-28" tall.

Will a 295/45/17 drag radial fit ok on a 17x9.5 Drag Star? This would be for a manual, 355 gear.
