For the price in really thinking these 19x10 gt500 style rims, but are drag radials typically cheaper on 17x9.5 vs 19x10? Which one would give better traction? Probably tires on a 17x9.5 due to thicker side wall right? I'm trying to figure this out and get back out to the track.

The smaller the wheel, the more sidewall, the better you will hook. (generally speaking)

The smallest you can fit on the S550 is a 17" wheel.

You can budget shop on CL etc...but most people find like 17x8 or 17x7 wheels....and throw a tire on it that is too large.

I believe in doing it the right way. In this case, you are going to want to use a 17x9.5" or 17x10" wheel with a properly sized Drag Radial...that is preferably 27-28" tall.

A lot of us small tire guys like running a narrow wheel. Gives more sidewall. Look at a 275 on a 7-8" wheel and on 10" wheel. I've cut some of my best 60fts on a 15x7 wheel compared to a 15x10

If your looking for cheap wheels just go to American racing and get a set of drift wheels or gt500 replicas. They fit the car fine and won't break the bank. Or check Craigslist for a set that'll fit a mustang. Just about any mustang wheel wil fit.

If i go with a 305/35r19 drag radial on the stock pp rears, will the 255/40r19 front tire be ok?
