There is a difference in the housing, mainly the inlet however they are both TVS superchargers.

The VMP Design provides a lower restriction inlet design that really shines when you want to push the TVS hard and make "real" power.

The Roush design is great, VMP just tweaked it to make it better.

The Roush inlet system is a multi-piece design, VS the VMP which is cast into blower housing for a nice large inlet plenum with maximized flow characteristics.

One thing I like about the VMP Set-Up is the options you have. They have a Stage 3 Kit that makes some serious steam.

Thanks alot. Helps alot. Might be a stupid question but, can I buy a stage 1 for now and build it into a stage 3 over time? Build it piece by piece ?

Of course.

And no problem! FWIW, I have the VMP Stage 3 Kit on E85...and a little more boost, and my S550 goes 9.60's in the 1/4 on 20" wheels after a 2 hour drive to the drag strip.

;)

I've had nothing but issues with my Roush kit and a lack of customer service or support from both Roush and my Ford dealer that installed it. I was running the 627 HP map that just looked ugly here in Texas.

I've worked with VMP now over the phone to get different parts and some upgraded fuel components for my Roush kit. On 93 pump I'm putting down over 600 WHP.

I'm actually looking to getting back into the turbo scene with this car.

Need to be very cautious. Many kits are not emissions legal. Taking an emission complaint vehicle and making it non-complaint is illegal according to the epa in all states. If your in ca, then it's also illegal but to carb and epa. The reason our kits are more is because we spend a lot of money making the kit legal, durability testing and continuing to develop new innovative product. You get far bigger, better products for a small $500 difference. Our margins are actually less, but the parts you get are better in every way.

You'll be very happy, my Stg3 VMP kit hauls a$$, you are welcome to come check it out. Also, Boosted Performance in Mooresville has installed 2-3 of them, he can do it in 1 day. The Lund tune is rock solid, first trip to the strip on a remote flash and I trapped 130+ on 20" wheels, 2200ft DA/summer heat, with catalytic converters, on 93 pump. Ken/Lund has since made changes to my tune, drives like stock and is a complete monster. Headed to Rockingham this Sat, will be going 10's all day.

Also, my stg3 VMP kit was over $1000 less then the whipple kit, including my 1000ID's and twin 67mm tb. Whipple makes a great kit, cant go wrong either way. Let me know if you want to go for a spin in a TVS powered beast.

Would like to ride in the VMP car. I'm not too far away. How much power are you making? Btw, why didn't you go with Amazon Tuning in the same building as Boosted. They say Rick is good at Amazon. My Procharger kit makes around 600 whp. We could give him a ride in both. PD blowers make serious low end, tire spinning power, I actually prefer the more linear power band of the PC. I've had both in the past. PD blower car was dangerous in the winter. Breaking loose tires at 2500 rpm in 3rd gear is scary. Lol

Happy to meet up anytime, would like to checkout your setup as well. You should join us in Rockingham this Sat for T&T, headed up with Boosted Performance. Not really sure how much power I'm making, base flash from Lund put down 605/495 on Rick's low reading Mustang dyno, my tune has since been revised twice, trapping 130+ in summer heat on True Forged 20's/93pump/with cats. Expecting to go 132mph+ this weekend, updated tune, and much better weather. I went with Lund because my VMP/TVS kit came with their tune, free upgrades, zero complaints, Ken Bjonnes is da man.

I've had a centri and a pd setup, loved both of them. For me, I prefer centri's with manuals, pd's with auto's. I'd definitely like to make a few pulls against each other, see how they compare. Who tuned your setup?

robmustang201528, to answer your original question...

The VMP TVS supercharger kit for the 5.0l Mustang is similar to Roush, in that we both use TVS rotorpack technology from Eaton. We pick up where Roush leaves off HP-wise. Our kits are designed to support more power, with larger fuel injectors, larger inlet, optional bigger throttle body, and a dual-fan, tripple-pass, heat exchanger, that keeps everything cool. All of this combined with the excellent torque of the TVS designs allows us to pack a very nasty punch...from a mild 600rwhp to 900rwhp+, yes we have our VMP TVS on Mustangs that run 8s in the 1/4 mile.

A few teasers from our stage 2/3 kits:
