Geez..YellowGT...that is just totally wrong in so many ways......I can only imagine how brutally angry you must be...what are those morons doing with their screwed up ordering system?
I was talking to a relative of my wife on the weekend, who ordered from the same dealership as myself....he ordered in March 2014...and he will not be getting his until Feb 2016...he is beyond angry as he was the second order at the dealership....we were around the seventh.....needless to say, he has already put it up for sale....he is so angry that he doesn't even want to see it.
That dealership had over one hundred orders as of July 2015.....when will those poor bastards ever get their cars.
What the?? He ordered same dealer but before you and delivery is later? That's insane

We will both get our cars at around the same time......even though he ordered in March 2014....the whole system is nuts....I really do wonder if anybody in Ford Aus cares one iota about the way the delivery process has panned out....

Unfortunately what are we to do?

I am sure if we cancelled our orders en masse, that would create quite a shake up......but really it would achieve nothing.

Fact
  • The S550 has become extremely popular in the US domestic market..... 10 096 USA sales for the month of October!!!!!!!!!!!
  • USA market will always be catered to first
  • The rest of the world will just have to wait
Unfortunately for the world, whilst the platform is being assembled in one plant only..........things will not change.
Actually once the cars get on the road, orders are expected to increase, which will only blow the wait time out even further.

Patience is a virtue.........my arse, that phrase was never intended to be associated with the wait for a car

haha well said FPV GT, it will be a great car once it arrives. Here is a good trick to confuse your brain.

Put your Christmas tree up, now my brain thinks its December which is closer to January which is closer to when I should be getting my car delivered.....I swear I'm not crazy

We're not big for the US market and we aren't for Ford Australia.
Then again apparently there's not much margin in the Mustangs, so nobody buying them wouldn't make much financial difference so the only thing we have is publicity!

If everyone cancelled and it made it to the media, they could paint Ford with a brush that would see people stop ordering the bigger money makers and that would hurt.

I really hope for you, and the rest of the gang that news is good, and the joy arrives sooner than later.:clap2:

I hesitated in putting a deposit down early, I was positive that there would be some issues with the car so decided to wait and see what happens.
Was given some good oil that there would be delays in Aus getting the car, so I joined the queue in July. My fault no one else's:doh:
But in no way did the imagination stretch to consider a possible 14 month wait.

Reading some of the horror stories regarding build quality etc......well enough said. No one wants to hear about my concerns:lol::lol::lol:

Its actually quite positive that so many orders have been taken, in many of the cases car unseen, and that there has been no REAL publicity for the car.
I have heard that once on the road it is expected a 20% influx of orders will be received.

Now working on the above in regards to the rest of the world, my comment that the waiting list could blow out, and blow right out has some merit.

2015 Year 124 560 Mustang deliveries in the US to date

http://www.mustang6g.com/forums/showthread.php?t=35612

The trend is that the Mustang will increase in sales, this is just their domestic market.

Here is an interesting snippet of information.
Australia has apparently 3000 Mustang with deposits paid.

3000 cars on order say $1000 deposit = $3 million
3000 cars say at $55000 = $165 million (rough average between models)

I wonder where the deposits are sitting?
And, $165 mill from Aussies whom have put their faith into this, and the $$$ will only grow......

Jeeeez if I can see that this car is a licence for Ford to print money, why can the bean counters obviously not.....

Thank heaven for beer

3000 in a year, vs 124,000 in a year in the US.
$3 million sitting in the bank earning interest.

A cynic would say its in Ford's best interests to NOT deliver the AU cars, and keep selling to the US market - with 50 times the sales volume, any bad press in the US will have 50 times the impact!

For those of us with Mustangs on the PARSIFAL .. best you check your dealerships revised VISTA ETA today. Mine just went from December 5 to December 19. WTF ????? :paddle:

Rang Ford Au for a please explain (13 36 73). They maintain they have no view on stock control and that I should ring the dealership. The dealership has no idea why the ETA's have moved out 14 days for Perth. And around and around we go.

17 days to ship to Perth ????? I don't think so !!!!

Just when I could see light at the end of the tunnel ... Ford built more tunnel :frusty:

This is getting beyond a joke now.

Hi gs60wa, do you know who updates or has input into VISTA information. If you could contact them directly then hopefully you could get get an answer as to why the ETA has been moved. Up until now Ford Aus has been guilty of lack of information but once these cars land in Australia they are the responsibility of Ford Au and if there are any stuff ups or delays that are not due to unforeseen circumstances, Ford Au should be taken to task and their stuff up brought to the attention of the media and public.

Just remember there is 10 day delay at the canal. They are most likely taking that into account with the estimated delivery dates. Once the cars are on the boat, its out of Fords hands until they arrive at the destination.

I think some people need to just chill, your car will arrive.

There ended up being no delay at Panama Canal and PARSIFAL sailed through on schedule so no delays in shipping. It's not a matter of "chilling", it's a matter of Ford moving the goal posts after certain commitments were made that any changes in ETA would see a phone call to me with an update. The ETA has not changed for the ship to dock in Melbourne, but my ETA into Perth today moved from Dec 5 to 19 and nobody at Ford Au can explain to me why. I won't be chilling anytime soon.

Very interested to hear the outcome/reason gs60wa.

Just had a call from Ford informing me that my car is on the Fidelio and that dealer delivery should be approximately 30 days from the time the boat left Baltimore. Pretty optimistic considering the boat left on the 8th of Nov and isn't due into Port of Melb until 8th Dec...

Going to follow up my dealer to see what their latest ETA in the system is. If it's going to take 2-3 weeks to get from the port to the dealer it will be touch and go if I get mine before Xmas.
