Installed my roush cai over the weekend, this is my first Cai and was wondering if it's normal to have a bit of a whistle under accelerations, is this normal or is something wrong? Thanks for the help

As long as it's a slight whistle that goes away under wot. Completely normal, just the sound of rushing air being sucked into the throttle body while it's partially open.....enjoy your new intake:headbang:

I have a Roush CAI and I do not have the whistle you speak of. Check all of your port connections to make sure they are seated and locked on. Also make sure your MAF sensor is seated correctly and tight.

You also have catless headers:cool: maybe why you can't hear any free flowing intake suction over the exhaust lol.

OP you don't have any other mods correct?

was thinking about this intake vs jlT or steeda bc dealer said they could warranty it if they installed it

If you don't have any other further issues...ie. surging, loss of power, etc. seems like your able to hear the air rushing through the throttle body that's more pronounced with your intake design. My CAI whistles under slight load in all gears and is pretty audible through the heat extractor which the intake sits under. Though it will be missed as soon as I put on my catback which beef just sent me a shipping update on

I also do not have a whistle from my Roush intake. I would assume it is lose connection of some sort. Did you line up the filter arrow with the MAF sensor? Not sure if that would cause it but that part of the install is easy to miss.

Wouldn't you need a tune to go w/the Roush installation.

Whistle is normal. I have it with my JLT and my previous car's with CAI's had it. A slight whistle under accel is normal. It's air passing over the opening of the throttle body.

Its literally the air flowing through the filter...Completely normal. Every CAI has some sort of "Whistle" or noise associated with it when at lower RPM's. You can check plugs in your firewall to see if any are loose, that could over exaggerate the sound.
