Hey guys just wanted to say that I will be leaving this forum for a while. My car is looking like it won't be delivered till next June at the earliest, so my checking of this forum several times a day, every day till then will drive me insane, especially when members here start receiving their vehicles. I will be back on when my Mustang is nearly delivered, so see you guys then and enjoy your Mustangs when they arrive. :D

But isn't insanity part of the buying process???? I had no idea that was optional!

Farewell NonIron91, see you in the spring [emoji106]

I'm trying to tone the insanity down a bit :) It will probably be more like summer

With you there, off the line 4th August then it disappeared for 6 weeks. Whole thing has been a joke from start to finish.
On top of all that I now don't have a car, my lease expired, my insurance company told me they couldn't suspend it until December. So I've had to cancel my policy with 4 month left on it, I've lost a years no claims, got a measly ÂŁ24 refund & now my car insurance will be due just before Christmas for at least next 5 years! Brilliant
Andy Barratt said he'd sort me a loan car, he didn't and had now lost interest.

Just to rub salt into your wounds.....are you sure you had to cancel your policy? I know a car can have multiple, separate policies on it, taken out by different people so long as any claim is only made on one policy. Just wondering why it is you had to cancel yours?

I wasn't really in a position to argue with them, they said an insurance policy could only be suspended for 3 weeks. Apparently it's illegal not to disclose to your insurance company is you no longer have the car.
Again, I don't know enough about car insurance regulations to argue

Shame. Direct Line will suspend a policy for months and still keep the record after that so you can just reactivate when you need to.

I have just found out from Deysha that my car is still at the plant awaiting release so why did Karen tell me that it was on its way to the docks two days ago and that I'd definitely have it by Christmas.

There are two different systems so maybe they're not using the same one?

One is Vista & I can't remember the name of the other one, but I believe one is more accurate than the other and if that IS the case, then your car IS on the boat.

ETA: Page 26 of this thread, post #462: it was YOU who said it!

I think Deysha has been accurate but basic, karens dates have been a bit off but that might be the system updating, and a fellow member of the forum's information has been the best:clap2:
The dealers have been totally useless and I feel like I'm buying a used van rather than there top product, in fact I think I would have had more communication if I had been buying a used van!

Having spoken to my dealer last week about the latest letter we're supposed to be getting from Ford I was left with the impression that there will be a different version of the letter depending on the status of your car. Those whose cars are yet to be built will get one with a 'no VIN yet, scheduled to be built etc' type of clarification, so they may be the first to get a letter. The folks whose car has already been built will only get a letter once Ford know what boat it will be on - so not having a letter at he moment may well be good news (sort of!), at least it probably means your car has been built. How accurate my impression turns out to be is anyone's guess, of course

Well i have had the letter and it confirms gate release. Goes like this.

Dear Steve,

Thank you for placing your order for a Ford Mustang. I wanted to let you know that production of right-hand drive Mustangs has now started at our production facility in Flat Rock, Michigan, USA.

Your vehicle is one of the earliest builds and is already gate released.

The anticipated shipping time to our dealership is 12 weeks after vehicles have left Flat Rock.

Once your vehicle has cleared customs and is loaded onto a ship in Baltimore, Maryland, USA, we will be in touch again to share with you the name of the vessel. This will allow you to track its progress via www.vesselfinder.com. Once your vehicle has reached Zeebrugge, please allow 5-6 weeks for European customs clearance and onward delivery to the UK.

While it’s been a long wait, we hope this live tracking will provide more information in the final phase of waiting.

I've had that letter too - Deysha has confirmed my car is at the dock, so I'm basically waiting on the next letter telling me which boat its on.

I'm at the dock, no letter but confirmed on Eurasian Highway next week. Dealer may as well not even exist, zero contact unless i've phoned them and when i do i always get "Oh I was just about to call you"
