Phone/Sync media keeps disconnecting

Hey guys I've had my car about a month now and the whole time I've been using the Spotify app on my phone to play music through Sync but for some reason the past two days when I try to do it, it keeps just disconnecting and won't play it. I've even tried deleting the phone from sync and reconnecting and it will do the phone and message part but when I push the media button to play music it will say connecting to Samsung blah blah then connected then 2 secs later it will say disconnected. Anyone have any ideas?

You can try a reboot of the phone or re-pairing. If that doesn't work, there was an updates release for Sync in the last few days, you may want to update to it (assuming you have MyTouch).

I have had the same issue and discovered it may be related to a recent update to sync. I have base model GT and will have to down the update to a empty thumb drive. Then connect the thumb drive to the correct drive in the car. Website said should take 10 or more minutes to complete with your vehicle running. I have not done it yet, but hope that fixes the issue.

I've had this issue with the usb but not bluetooth (iphone6)

I had the same problem- listened to Pandora via bluetooth for nearly 5000 miles without issue, then all of the sudden starting last week it would disconnect as soon as it connected. I did the Sync system reset (press and hold "seek up" and radio power button for a few seconds, then give it a couple minutes). Works fine now.

My 2014 did something similar. Bluetooth worked fine for months then one day it would just keep disconnecting.

On the 14s there was a fuse you could pull to reset the sync module but I didn't bother with that. I disconnected the battery for about 20 seconds and it worked fine after that.

So I was going to do the download but when i go to ford owner website it says my sync is up to date........any ideas, problem still the same

When you go to the my ford website. At the top right hand corner of the page. It should say that your sync is up-to-date. I happened to scroll further down the page and saw the new icon for the update on the sync system. I have not tried the download yet since I need to get an empty thumb drive as suggested by the update...or any of suggestions on this page...been working...will try by this weekend

I dont see a place to be able to do it. I have a thumb drive and am ready to go but cant find a way to download the software to the thumb drive

@Midnight_LMR if you do a "health report" it will tell your online account what version of SYNC you have. Then may be it will give you the option to update.
