What's the hold up?

Does anyone have a clue why it's taking so long to get these cars to us? My dealer originally said October is when to expect my car but after reading some posts it looks like a lot of the 16s will start being built mid October. Any insight is greatly appreciated.

Supplier issues
Inventory-they (Ford) build up substantial inventory before shipping
Crash test certification
Smog certification both Federal and CA..only only recently released mpg numbers...thus final tune may have been recently determined and smog numbers submitted for certification. See articles on VW--smog regulators may have been busy on other issues and this engine got pushed back a bit (only speculation)
Other unknowns.

This car is NOT gonna change your life 1 bit other then cost you some cash (and if you think it will make you more of a man, a better driver, etc drop the car and go spend serious time with a shrink instead) so just chill and enjoy the ride...

I've read all about the VW issue going on. Not sure what the last statement is about but I was just asking if anyone has heard anything so far. I think you're the one that needs to chill sir.

Your dealer has no info to share. None of us dealers have info to share. Ford is keeping us in the dark on the delays. I've been on Mustang forums for 15+ years and learned something profound long ago: "Ford will ship them when they're good and ready, and not a minute sooner."

thats especially funny coming from someone who bought an LE. must be pissed he bought the most overpriced fluff filled GT instead of waiting for the GT350

Enzo. I feel ya. I don't really understand why people get so bent out of shape for you asking a reasonable question. You were told something was going to happen. It didn't and you haven't really been told why. That's frustrating.

I'll just say this. You want to wait for this car. Be patient. Let Ford Performance do their job before releasing the cars. They are working through some things. I want my car to be 100 percent as good as possible before I take delivery and that's what they are working on. I've tried to forget I ordered one and I'll just get excited when I find out it's been built.

Well you've got to give Ford credit - even governments and top secret security agencies can't seem to keep secrets.........the punishment inside Ford for releasing any information about the situation must be severe.......or some top insider would have said - "this is what we are doing concerning GT350 deliveries"
