I will be getting my 2016 Mustang GT Premium in few weeks and would like to know what is the best paint sealant product that members could recommend?
There are many out there, like Ceramic Pro, Nanohide Nh-A7, OptiCoat Pro, NanoSkin Ceramic, etc. What does independent research show is the best product?

After some research and talking with numerous detail shops I am going with Cquartz finest on my 2016 Ruby Red when it is delivered. its really a personal preference as many on this forum will tell you its a waist of money. For me I decided to go with it as I saw a car that had the Cquartz and it looked incredible compared to any car detail I have ever seen. Again really a personal preference, plenty of room for differences in opinions. Good luck in choosing

If you ask a detailer there are differences between a sealant and something like Ceramic and OptiCoat. A sealant in place of a wax can last about 8 months. The Ceramic can last up to a couple years if washed properly in between. And that bonds to the finish and repels dust and dirt and can be applied to almost any surface. And can range from 600.00-1400.00 if done professionally depending on which you buy. Each person you talk to recommends something different for their own reasons. The two detail shops I talked to one said Ceramic the other prefers Opticoat. But both do a standard paint seal for around 300.00 included withbtheir detail. I was quoted 650.00 for Ceramic for paint surfaces and 1400.00 for Opticoat from the other shop to do EVERY exterior surface. It was too much to think about and way too much money. I'm just getting a regular paint sealer applied with a detail for $250 from the first shop.

This.

I agree that most of these ceramic coatings are an absolute ripoff at $600-1,500 applied. Until someone can show me physical scientific evidence it is worth that much money you won't convince me otherwise. Anyone can say ooooo it's beading water (so will any wax) and tap a key on the paint in a video and fudge it. Ceramics WILL scratch; not a forcefield as many ignorant people believe (it will prevent scratches for 5 years- yeh, ok sure. And I have ice to go sell to some Eskimos too)

Any name brand sealant is fine (Chemical Guys, Blackfire, etc), just strip the car with rubbing alcohol or dish soap and reapply every few months. It's not tough.

Id rather reapply sealant and wax every 60 days than pay for some magical coating (allegedly) for average almost $1,000. A good sealant and wax is under $100 and will last you a year plus even doing it as often as monthly. I could wax my car monthly for every month of ownership (5-6 years) for 1/4 the cost.

I was told (More than once the last few years) to just skip all the silliness out there and have Xzilon applied to my vehicles.

It was developed for Boeing as Boeing needed a solution to the harsh conditions paint takes from bird impacts, to ice pellets to sand/rocks ETC.

I saw a 2014 GT with it on it, and it looked as good as it did new off the lot. No rock chips, no swirls from the auto car washes ETC...

I am considering giving it a try. I wonder if anyone here has experience with it (Not just an opinion, but actual experience)?

Yep, love my Jet Seal from CG and it goes a long way. My wife was pissed about how much $$$ I spent on car detailing supplies this year, but when her CX5 was clayed, sealed and waxed she about shit how clean it looks all the time.

I'm happy with ceramic pro. There all good. As far as the cost, remember that your paying just as much for the prep as the coating itself. If all your looking at is a sealant than I'd recommend getting one that is user friendly and do it yourself. If my car wasn't black I would of skipped the paint correction.

Most of that cost is in the correction itself. I know there is no way I'd be able to get my paint to look anywhere close as pristine auto was able to do. There is not 1 swirl anywhere. So to me and many others it is worth every penny. I've never had a black car before that was this easy to keep clean, so to me ceramic pro is a miracle. Agree with they will still scratch though.
