The problem with the interior strap: what happens when your arm is slower pulling out than the trunk lid coming down? I still use the 'flat palm on the trunk recurve' method.

Not even a problem. With a ~7" strap your fingers are just about where they are when holding the bottom trunk edge to close. I tried it out a ton last night.

I use my leather wallet to close it. Basically hold it in my hand like a hockey puck and use it to push it down. No smudges :D

With that strap method, my trunk would never close correctly. I would always have to add some extra force to close it.

My car is always in a state of "dirty." Even 5 minutes after washing my car. I try not to worry about it too much. A little bit of detailing spray will fix it back up.

It'll probably be easier to keep it in the trunk...
But how do you get it back in the trunk after closing it? :D

I usually carry a handkerchief and use that after a fresh wash.

Maybe I'll keep a trunk closing microfiber in the back seat or something.
What I noticed with using a microfiber is it seemed to attract more dust afterwards. As soon as I drove somewhere the spots I used with Microfiber were like magnets to dust. Even worse than the fingerprints.

We just need to figure a way to implement an automatic close. Press the button and trunk self closes.

Well, most SUV'S have that. Why not do it in the Mustangs if it is that much of a problem for some folks? Make it an option. If it is really that much of an issue. Will you pay for it? After all, it does involve installing another small electric motor, gears, etc.
But I am very surprised that so many here find this to be a problem. Fingerprints on the trunk panel? Come on people. Drive your car. Enjoy it. wash it when it gets dirty. Do you really think anyone is going to look at your car and say "Oh my god, look at that back trunk panel. How awful".

Just got my GTPP today and have tried the trunk latch inside the lid, the GT logo and the corner. The trunk has alot of resistance. The kits are out of stock though. :frusty:
