im not drag racing my car. its just a street toy. I dont feel like dumping money on half shaft upgrades. And the "lower budget" headers have been proven to produce just as much hp if not more than any of the other more expensive options. I hear ya on the CAI though, I impulse bought it when it first came out when there werent many other options out there. Ive been thinking about switching to a painted JLT.
I haven't seen them put out Arh, Sw or kooks numbers. Im not saying they are bad for the price, which they are great for the price, but I don't think they got you the most HP you could have gotten out of headers. Obviously that hp comes at a price. I can understand if you aren't looking to spend that much for something you aren't all out building. Id definitely switch, someone will pick up your current. Always someone wanting a box style intake.

Realistically 500 at the wheels will be tough. Tune/CAI/headers/exhaust people are seeing 450-460.

I doubt a CJ or Boss manifold will get you there from that- and even if you slap on a CJ or Boss does having 480 at 6500 RPMs really matter for a street car? It's not giving you true usable power in the range you drive in normally for the money those options cost. Sure you can say you have 480 but youll never feel all 480 unless you constantly rev over 6500 RPMs; which i doubt many do unless you are tracking it.
It can be done. Usable is subjective. To people that take it WOT through a few gears on the street or the track often will find the extra power welcomed. Its definitely not for everyone. I personally won't be going for an NA build.

Like I said purely for daily driving. I can't say I've ever hit 6500 RPMs even winding it out a little in daily driving, which is where the prior dyno graphs showing a Boss etc having any noticeable affect. And it doesn't even start to kick in until just over 6500 with 7,000+ being where it shows. Other than playing on an empty road or merging onto a highway it's really not daily driver usable. You wont notice any oomph going to the grocery store or work really.

I just think the $5-600 (Boss) or $1,000 or so (CJ) is much better spend towards a mild FI setup.

I agree that FI is a much more cost effective choice for the end result that comes. Some people just really like staying Na or don't even want that 550+ rwhp that comes from mild FI. So to spend the 5000ish it costs for that much more power they didn't even want to begin with, it doesn't make sense for them.

600whp is extremely pointless in a daily driver. If you require a racecar. You should really put the daily miles on something else. Thats just fact.

So you're saying because the stainless power headers are cheaper, they don't have the same power output? I call bullshit on that one. I've seen SP headers put out what the other big ones do at half the price. There's nothing revolutionary in the other headers.

without back to back testing on the same dyno, same day, its not been proven. There are reasons the expensive systems remove bottlenecks, the cheaper ones still have those bottlenecks

Some people would classify your 435hp GT as a "racecar" and deem it unnecessary for public roads, subjectivity is a funny thing isn't it?
