Help Convince My Wife

Good Afternoon All! My 2016 will be here sometime in October and my wife just found out a few days ago she is pregnant. Well... she is very cool with me keeping the mustang as we have a 3rd car to use as our baby hauler. I did see a thread a bit ago about kids in the back of the mustang but has anyone one it with a new born? I am thinking the front seat will be way forward but is there even enough to get a stroller in the trunk if needed? I am trying to justify it to myself as well. Thanks all!

Good Point... you know how it goes though, sometimes women have the best memory and I don't want to hear the old "I knew this wouldn't work", eventhough it was OK 10 months ago.

I think a stroller would fit the trunk. But I think it would be tight getting a car seat in and out of the back - assuming you get one of the those units where the seat acts as car seat and as the stroller seat.

Even if you have a permanent car seat, I think it would be pretty awkward getting the baby in and out. But, if this is a 3rd car and only used on occasion with the baby, probably be fine.

It's likely going to be a 2 person car (driver and the baby) as the most new infant seats are so large that front right seat is unusable. Stroller (one you put infant seat on) should fit in the trunk easily.

got baby and 2 and half year old in mine with my wife in passenger front all the time.

also stroller fits just fine in the rear. in fact I can get two back there.

unless you both are freakishly tall people there are no issues with mustang and kids.

oh and also don't buy some ginormous baby seat... first off bigs ones aren't necessary and 2nd off you don't need it.

Thanks Khyber! I figure if I get it in October I still have a solid 6 months or so without having to worry. I will check into the baby seats and find a smaller one, probably easier to carry as well.

I have babytrend for rear facing(but it's got babies r us branding on it) and recaro for the front facing. Alot of us here have the recaro for the front facing. Well built seat too.

I am betting you could get one of those hitch mounted bike racks and fab it up to hold a car seat. Doesn't get much more accessible than that.

I had a Chicco I think (not with Mustang) but it almost made a Tacoma with Double Cab a 2 people car and it did make Mazda 3 two people car. Obviously Khyber's experience is more relevant, sounds like smaller car seat is a way to go.

Now my two and half year old in the back is perfectly fine in the back making daily ride from her school.

Bought my mustang when my daughter was 2 months old. Sucks putting her in, but she fits and so does my 2yo son.
