Hmm. Mine was ordered on the 28th of May (assuming the dealer submitted it correctly to Ford). So theoretically, if its a "first in first out" sort of deal, then I should be getting a build date sometime soon.

If this was the case then those of us that ordered in January and February would already have a build date. And that ain't always true...

The build plan is known to Ford, at FRAP at least, if not Ford UK. They could tell us/the dealers if they wanted. Clearly there's a reason why it has to remain a secret and for my money it's to make it easier to change at the drop of a hat.

That's what we do here at Nissan :^)

Unless you specifically ask for your build date from the Sunderland Factory, you'll get zip out of the dealer until its already been built and waiting in the compound.

TBH, its pretty much the defaqto state for the Car Industry outside of tracked orders from select Premium and Luxury marquees like Aston Martin and Audi.

Does Deysha need the VIN to find information about vehicles or can (/will) she locate it in other ways?

I'm pretty sure she needs the VIN. Worth a try though if you have things like order number/dealer name etc. When I tried the Flat Rock email, they couldn't look at anything without the VIN.

Surely you should be able to locate something based on other customer details such as address and name. It shouldn't be that difficult to find. But then, Ford may lock off customer information since its deemed "sensitive", where the VIN isn't.

Got exactly the same response from the same girl. Just had a look back through my emails. She said "I’ve been told that if you don’t have a VIN number yet for the car, then it hasn’t been scheduled to be built." so I guess we just need to harass our dealers for that VIN. I'm guessing they don't necessarily get notified when these things happen but will need to check in Vista for updates. That was the case when I phoned & specifically asked for what my dealer had on the system - I got my order number which before asking he never thought to give to me.

I've sent Deysha a e-mail to see whats happening with mine. She has my VIN so I'll let you know whats happening with those that are supposedly finished.

Called my dealer and indeed my delivery date has changed to 21/11/15. this is a becoming an increasing problem as the residual on my trade in is getting lower and lower each month (problem for a few of us I'm sure). Dealer will only give me a fix price once the mustang delivery date appears to stop fluctuating. Hopeful i'll get a fixed price beginning of October as the last thing i want to do is to be rushing around finding extra ÂŁ when they are about to give me the keys!

I went to a meeting today, and in the building was the Mustang Priority team,
So went to see one of them, she asked my name, I told her, she then said " I'm not supposed to talk to you.
If you want to know anything, call or email .

LoL.
Walked away in disgust

She wouldn't talk to you because you've ordered or because your name is "known"? ;)

I couldn't understand why, there was 2 of us, she actually typed our names I to the computer, then told us
, only wanted some info, think they are agency staff, not ford employees
