I had the FRPP Trackey on my Boss 302 and my 2013 and 2014 GT Mustangs. I loved it. No different than adding different exhaust

At the end of the day, its another car modification and the reason we all modify our cars is to make ourselves happy not others. It really is no different that people putting extra loud blow off valves, racing stripes, hood vents that serve no functional purpose, huge race inspired wings, etc.. the list could go on and on. Would i do it? Probably not, because I would have a hard time explaining to someone why my car sounds like its got big ol cams in it when there really isn't.

And now to lighten the mood with this video:

Rice. Can't believe people do this dumb shut.
It's not for me either, that's why I am not buying it.

I have come to accept that there are a lot of "rice" or "dumb" mods, but I just skip over it if it's not for me and keep my mouth shut if it doesn't directly affect me. Look at it this way.. stuff like this is another way for people exploring what is possible to do with tuning software, and it is increasing the revenue for them which helps them stay in business and offer me things that I am interested in.

With the lope tune, you are 'pretending' to have something you do not have - lumpy/aftermarket cams.

Imo, the tune is very much along the same vein as putting a vtec badge on your trunk lid when there is no vtec anywhere to be found in the engine bay.

But, to each their own.

If this guy put the vtec badge on his cobra, it would be fine.

:)

The coyote actually has high lift cams, they're just tuned for comfort/economy in stock form. The TI-VCT allows the tuner to allow extra duration that causes the "big cam" sound.

Yes, but engines that actually sound like that, sound like that for a performance reason. This shit is just pretending. You are pretending to have an enormous built engine.

I think the Ghost Tune is great, after all I have an 11 second S550 heading towards the 10s, I'd like it to sound like it runs 11 & 10s. If you don't agree don't get it. Overlap is overlap, if you don't come from those days you won't understand. Later on I plan on cams, which will give me overlap but I'll also loose low end power, you don't loose low end power with the Ghost, plus at WOT all that overlap is in there from the factory, how else do you think your car runs so fast, not from the cam timing that you hear at idle, so it's nothing fake, it's what your car already has at WOT, just brought back to idle. If anything is fake it's what Ford did at idle, it hides the true cams that are already in your car from the factory. It's extremely obvious that some people are so new to this world that they don't know what a B or E 303 cam sounds like, and that was to run 12 & 11s in a 2,900 lb car. My S550 weighs 900 lbs more and runs faster than those days, it's painfully obvious that the stock cams have a CRAP load of overlap or else this wouldn't be possible with stock phasers.

Enjoy your rice. Make sure you add a cobrajet logo to your car while your at it. If your car is going to run 11s it should look like it too.

I have to disagree slightly. While a cammed out v8 sounds incredible, it's not optimum. Low speed drive ability sucks. Terribly. Yes, I still have a cammed out pushrod 302 (in a Shelby replica) with a big cam.

The beauty of these motors is you get the high rpm performance without the low speed (rpm) drive ability issues and drop in economy. The resultant sound, while music to the ears, is the effect of inefficient cam timing at that rpm. I'll pass cause I love the low speed drive ability that comes from decreasing overlap and still get the top end hp from more.

Some people consider it rice to be posing of having big cams. I don't necessarily agree with that, cause it would depend on what it would sound like when both cams are straight up. It might cut up like a mofo. Who knows.

While I wouldn't run one simply due to the loss of efficiently and drive ability, I understand the desire. But the again, it's my daily and I have a real cammed out pushrod motor to go listen to when the need arises.

Ford offered Trackey with my Boss 302 and no one called it rice. Don't be such a dick just because you don't like it unless I misunderstood your comment
