Looking for experience; if the answer is wait and listen what happens to others rides so be it,

But what is the max HP I can run on 93 octane, and what does it take to get there?

Thanks!

I dyno'd 702 SAE / 718 STD on 93 octane 13 psi. Out of the box Whipple kit and tune with exhaust and headers. Runs dangerously lean after 7000rpm but runs none-the-less. A/F was fine before headers, and it was only like 10-15hp less without the headers.

Safe at 700rwhp 93 octane? Who knows. Ive been here for 5000-6000 miles and I abuse the car pretty bad doing lots of highway pulls etc. Hasnt demonstrated any issues yet, but it still might at any moment. Im moving to E85 over the next couple weeks.

I'm running 93 with a bottle of Lucas. All it takes is one bad tank of gas to really mess up your day. The quality of 93 can vary from station to station and state to state and month to month. I like having a little octane booster to be safe.

We have made far more than mid 600's safely. We made 722WHP on a DD w/ regular ol' 93 octane. Coolest part is that using our proprietary tuning software and tuner we are capable of getting even more! That same GT is in here as I type getting more work done to it! BUT :gossip: keep it between us lol.

Looks like you are running a whipple? I don't really want to change out my SC =/ I don't see why I couldn't make that with the Roush SC.

That type of blower will be out of gas before you get to the 700 mark unfortunately. Are you still running the canned Roush tune?

700-720 is about all it will do on 93.

You'd need to swap to a VMP TVS if you wanted to keep most of your components.

Process,

Is 700 safe? I'm going to dyno Friday but guesstimate I'm around 620rwhp; how are people hitting 700 on 93 octane? more boost?

Also, what is the difference between the VMP and the Roush TVS?

I made over 700 on 93 before swapping to E85. Personally, I think you'd want to stop around 680-700 as sometimes you may just get shit gas and thats all she wrote. E85 is just way more forgiving, burns cooler, and makes a ton more power. Thats why I went to it.

You'll need about 15psi to make over 700 on 93 with timing set to it's limits.

I'm not even sure how to get 680rwhp;

In regards to E85, what happens if I get E85 tune, and *normally* run E85, but am somewhere in need of gas and can only put 93 in?

There aren't many E85 stations near me

To hit 680-700whp on 93 with a D1 Stage 2, you'll need a 4.5-4.75 pulley. If you don't have a stage 2, good luck. P1 will run out of breath as well. But since you have a roush TVS, I don't really think 700rwhp is in the cards for you. You'd most likely need to do a head unit swap and run the VMP TVS. Typically you'll need about 13psi to hit around 700rwhp on most blower offerings on these cars on 93.

Can't run one tune for both fuel types unless your vehicle is flex fuel enabled. These cars are not yet.

E10 (Gasoline) has a stoich of 14.0, whereas E85 has a stoich of 9.85. It won't even idle properly. You will need to flash in a different tune to change back to gasoline.
