I sure hope so. I'm so tired of waiting. I may just end up buying a 2016 off a dealer lot if production on retail orders gets delayed. I need my car by October! I don't want my current S197 to hit 100k before I sell it, then its' value will drop.

My understanding is that they've pretty well been going full bore with 2 shifts. However, Fusions are made at Flat Rock as well as the Mustang. For 2017, Lincoln's will be added to the mix. A "stretched" Fusion chassis. Maybe then a 3rd shift.

Also read in the WSJ that auto analysts are giving odds that if the UAW strikes, it will be Chrysler. Of course, meteorologists are "analysts" too. Looks like for this contract money is the first priority. Rank and file hasn't had an hourly increase in some time. Doesn't matter that GubMint Motors gave out $9k profit sharing bonuses earlier this year. That works out to a $4.32/hour raise based on one year of a 40 hour week. Ford paid out $6.9k ($3.32/hour). Not bad if you can get it. :D

Going to get real interesting in Michigan next month. The state's Right to Work Law took effect on April 3rd. However, current union contracts are grandfathered in. The UAW contract expires on September 14th. After that date, the union can no longer force employees to pay dues. Employees can stop deduction of union dues after the contract expires. Similar to what happened in Wisconsin a few years back with the public unions.

My only fear is that my order will be put together on the last day before a shutdown/strike. GAWD! Thankfully, Georgia has a lemon law. Good for 2 years from the date of delivery on a new car.

Hang in there guys!

That is all...

As much as I want my car built yesterday, I'd prefer they not rush the job. I'm hoping for a "near perfect" vehicle be delivered to me, as opposed to, "hurry and get these out before we strike" vehicle delivered. I'm optimistic that things will go smoothly....:ninja:

Difference between you and me is when we get our cars sometimes in October , mine will be stored at the end of October while you'll be enjoying yours all winter long. :(

COTUS does not work for stock orders. You will not be able to use it to track your car. Please contact Deysha via PM, call the Ford Service number or contact your dealer for updates.
Understood. I already have all the info pertaining to my build...just didn't know about how it applied to stock orders.

No problem, PonyGrrrl!

Deysha, can you tell us if everything is going "as scheduled" so far?

Just read this on the internet .

The Detroit Three are scheduling extra production this summer to stockpile popular trucks and sport-utility vehicles, a strike-readiness move Detroit has employed ahead of past deadlines. At the same time, union leaders in local offices are advising rank-and-file members to gear up for labor actions.

Just procedural thing at this point. Lets hope both sides can work things out and avoid a strike.

Hopefully there will be a huge improvement on the body panel alignment issues.

I heard about there being problems with alignment issue with body panels but it's something that can't be perfect in my opinion. Their is always engineering tolerance in any design as well as manufacturing limitations. But being ford you would think the tolerance on how much the dimensions can differ on the actual sheet metal panels compared to the drawing would be minimal.

You should take a look at the body panel fitments on a Toyota/Lexus, usually pretty damn tight. Granted there can be issues with a limited batch of any brand of car but when you see it occurring month after month then there are larger quality concerns that are either being overlooked or have become acceptable to the manufacturer.
