On top of the fact that most ppl who get the V6 generally don't care that much about performance or got it for its affordability so it wouldn't make sense for them to be trading for GTsThe Ecoboost and GT account for like 90% of the sales so far. Of course you are going to see a lot more folks trade up to a GT from an Eco vs. V6.
Auto and Rear Parking Sensors and spare tireWhat other options besides the 50 anniversary appearance package?
Reason only after 2 months?
Just making me think Chevy got it right with their V6 being the mid model. Seeing lots on here trading up from EB to the GT.
Don't think I've seen a V6 to GT yet on here...has anyone done that?
IMO, I think the V6/EB group are the same buyers. The price difference is like 1k between the V6/EB base. If the premium was offered, I think you'd see way more V6's sold then EB.I think the expectations are totally different when you buy a v6 vs EB. People go into a dealer knowing they want a V6 and know exactly what they are getting. I think a lot of people get talked into the EB at the dealership and expect it to be more than it is. Then after a few months of driving one they don't like the sound or they don't like feeling second to GTs they see on the road. I think the EB is a good car but its an upsale and it gets talked up a whole lot at dealerships.
If you look at the Ecoboost section of this forum and then look at the V6 section you would see that is just not true. There is a far greater percentage of ecoboost owners who care about performance than V6 owners, and for good reason given the mod-ability of the Ecoboost.IMO, I think the V6/EB group are the same buyers. And yah, I do think people get talked up, but I believe it's for the premium features.
I think there is a big segment of buyers that don't care about top speed/power but want a nice looking sports car with some good power (like an Audi A5/S5).
Oh well we'll never know since they arne't selling the premium in the V6.
That's what im saying tho...the dealers talk the average buyer into the EB with more features. Then a few months later they want GTs. I just think the people that walk into dealers and buy V6s know they want a cheap base model car when they leave their house and go get one. That's why you don't see any v6 guys trading up.IMO, I think the V6/EB group are the same buyers. The price difference is like 1k between the V6/EB base. Have given lots of thought on it. I'm finally financially viable to afford one, as when I was looking to buy one earlier on in the year, a new GT was out of my budget. But my V6 has grown on me and unless the magical raise happens again, I'll stick to my V6 for awhile or at least until the S550's come out with a new face-lift model. Then I might take the plungeReason only after 2 months?
