The Ecoboost and GT account for like 90% of the sales so far. Of course you are going to see a lot more folks trade up to a GT from an Eco vs. V6.
On top of the fact that most ppl who get the V6 generally don't care that much about performance or got it for its affordability so it wouldn't make sense for them to be trading for GTs

What other options besides the 50 anniversary appearance package?
Auto and Rear Parking Sensors and spare tire :). I was pretty limited due to stock availability and want to stay with the Magnetic. I don't really miss the 401a package, but the Nav is a bit of a loss. I'm looking into some Sync hacks now...

Reason only after 2 months?

Just making me think Chevy got it right with their V6 being the mid model. Seeing lots on here trading up from EB to the GT.

Don't think I've seen a V6 to GT yet on here...has anyone done that?

I think the expectations are totally different when you buy a v6 vs EB. People go into a dealer knowing they want a V6 and know exactly what they are getting. I think a lot of people get talked into the EB at the dealership and expect it to be more than it is. Then after a few months of driving one they don't like the sound or they don't like feeling second to GTs they see on the road. I think the EB is a good car but its an upsale and it gets talked up a whole lot at dealerships.

IMO, I think the V6/EB group are the same buyers. The price difference is like 1k between the V6/EB base. If the premium was offered, I think you'd see way more V6's sold then EB.

And yah, I do think people get talked up, but I believe it's for the premium features.

I think there is a big segment of buyers that don't care about top speed/power but want a nice looking sports car with some good power (like an Audi A5/S5).

Oh well we'll never know since they arne't selling the premium in the V6.

If you look at the Ecoboost section of this forum and then look at the V6 section you would see that is just not true. There is a far greater percentage of ecoboost owners who care about performance than V6 owners, and for good reason given the mod-ability of the Ecoboost.

How many time slips are posted in the V6 thread of the dragstrip section?

Of course some people get the EB for premium features but even if the V6 had them it would still be missing 40ft-lb peak torque and 10hp

That's what im saying tho...the dealers talk the average buyer into the EB with more features. Then a few months later they want GTs. I just think the people that walk into dealers and buy V6s know they want a cheap base model car when they leave their house and go get one. That's why you don't see any v6 guys trading up.

I had a phase where I regretted my eb but I came from a 5.0 so it would be so stupid to go back to the same crap and take a hit. I wouldn't trade in my car for the same car with a different engine, I would go luxury performance and pick up a used S or an M series and let them take the hit for me.

Ecoboosts are for gas mileage crybabies...
My EB got 25-26MPG; My GT is getting 24 on the same commute, big deal and the car is not even broken in yet. My tears are tears of joy!!

Have given lots of thought on it. I'm finally financially viable to afford one, as when I was looking to buy one earlier on in the year, a new GT was out of my budget. But my V6 has grown on me and unless the magical raise happens again, I'll stick to my V6 for awhile or at least until the S550's come out with a new face-lift model. Then I might take the plunge

I think a lot of EB buyers like me are on the fence between the EB or GT. You can get a loaded EB for the same price of a barebones GT. It boils down to what you want out of the car. In the end, I chose the extra toys/luxury as it's a daily drive... Not a weekend or track toy.

I would also go GT if I didn't have to shell out another 5-6K upfront to get all the toys as well with the premium trim. Gas, is a moot point... At least for me.

In the end, buy whatever the hell makes YOU happy... EB or GT.

yeah alot of us probably wanted the eb. I wanted eb pp premium because it was cheaper and no need for a v8.. Until I heard it. I knew right then I wouldn't be happy... for others who don't care eb is sweet

I am going to "guess" most of the people who are commenting on the 5.0 vs. the EB are young. When I was young, I had the same feelings and always had the V8, even in Non-Ford cars (Firebird Trans Ams- before the bat mobile look) But, now that I am older at 70, I wanted a more relaxed Mustang, but one that still had the power, if not the sound. 99% of my driving is on the Interstate and on rural roads in and around the Black Hills of South Dakota. The EB is the perfect car for this. I did a significant amount of research before I bought it, and found I just didn't need the HP of the 5.0 anymore. This is one of the nicest Mustangs I have owned and when Ford bumps the engine up to a twin turbo 3.5 V6, I will then look to trade. Until then, there are a lot of tunes out there for those that feel the need the speed :)
