I take it you're Ford Glasgow?
I'm in Prestwick but ordered in Edinburgh - they were first to say come and talk to us about it - the Evans Halshaw place wasn't listed as Ford Store when I started looking last December (or if it was I didn't see it anywhere).

Will prob use Glasgow for servicing though!

I'm Edinburgh too. Interesting that neither of us have any information. Is it Mark you dealt with? I dropped him an email last week but i guess he could be on holiday...

Oliver was the chap that I dealt with, did have one conversation with him back in March (after a couple of unanswered emails) but zilch since then. However, I do know that sales peeps seem to move around a lot in the car world so I think continuity is an issue.

Despite the fact that I paid my deposit in 2014, I still don't have a VIN. There are people who ordered after me who seem to have this information so I have no idea what Ford are playing at.
...
My experience and theory is a mismatch between the dealer system and the Ford system. I made first contact with my local Ford dealer on 16/7/14 and I put in my order and paid my deposit on 22/1/15. I was told my final order could go on the system on 1/5/15 being the first possible ordering day so I went to the dealership to do it in person. The reality was that the order was entered into the dealer's group system but the system was not setup properly and so the order was not completed and it probably did not get to Ford until several weeks later. I am however told my build date is 24 Sept which is not too bad and I guess I will know in due course.

ok so my twitter campaign kind of failed...after prompting the ford service twitter team, they responded saying that they are looking into my query (gave me some hope), what they actually did was speak with my dealer who has just given me a call. The update: there is no update. He has been checking on my order but says he can't even give me a projected build month, let alone a date. He did say though that one of his orders was a deposit payer that got in before the prices were released (assuming Jan 2015) and that they had a build date.

To be fair, I can't blame the dealer - the information he has available to him simply isn't there.

My guess would be that some dealers have a better relationship with the people involved in the production process & that's why they can get certain information sooner than others.

From what I understand, the scheduling for individual orders isn't finalised until very near the actual build date (read on this sites wiki) so the chances are I will get a call from my dealer a week before mine goes into production.

Back to patiently waiting!

Actually have an update! After my phone call, I kind of figured he must have something on my order so I phoned him back. Actually gave me some good info which I didn't know beforehand...

This is what I got;
- although I sent my "waiting list" form on 25/02/2015. Ford didn't acknowledge it for a few days "early March" no biggie as it's only a few days
- My order was officially entered on to the Ford system on 27/05/2015. Apparently the date when they did all of the production planning. Haven't checked but I vaguely recall that others have this same date. This could be the "lock down" I guess, I got a call very early on (March I think) asking to confirm my order details, although at the time they said the lock down was still to happen, I never got a call back so maybe that was mine.
- My order number is L0087 which is cool because that's my birth year :) He did say though that this doesnt necessarily relate to you place in the queue, he originally said that the "L" is linked to the Hartwell group but then sort of corrected himself & mentioned that he believes it's to do with the Mustang orders (I believe the latter is true). Also said that I am the 85th person to order the Mustang - could be true if going from the 20/01/2015 price release date?
- I do not have a VIN yet
- I think he guessed at a late September build date but can't remember his exact words.
- My car is allocated to build plant U5 in the factory (random fact - might be useless).
- Another random fact; dealers were not allowed to order any cars & stockpile them to sell. Interesting because I think they have done this elsewhere in the EU

So there you have it, after an exhausting week of emails, phone calls & a barrage of tweets I finally got info from a simple call to my dealer. No build date like I was hoping but it's more that I have had to date. Sooooo anyone with an order number lower than me have a build date yet?!

My order number is L0065 with Gowrings in Basingstoke.

As I posted in another thread, they still don't have any concrete info for me but he did say that on the system he was looking at (vista?) the build date was down as 14th sept (same as croyde's), but no actual build number.

I've got L0024 but nothing back from my dealer on the email that I sent. Might give them a call next week if I get time.

Well although I got a PDF copy of my 'waiting list' order from the dealer I never actually got a 'you're on the list' email from Ford confirming my order (which was placed mid to end of Jan), but I did get an invitation to one of the first official launch events (where I actually paid some money and confirmed my spec).

I then heard - as was the case between order and launch event invitation - the sum total of f**k all. A couple of weeks ago I finally got a response to one of my many emails giving me a build date of 14th Sept. However the more I hear about the ongoing Mustang launch farce the more I think this is just a generic '2nd batch' build date given out to all and sundry to keep them quiet ..... or maybe it's just me being pessimistic or cynical ..... or both! :D

All in all I think it's been a pretty poor show from Ford. I have a certain degree of sympathy for the dealers as they seem to have been a bit of a 'piggy in the middle' during the whole launch shambles, but they haven't exactly covered themselves in glory either. To consistently ignore emails from paying customers is in itself a complete disgrace - even a 'nothing to report' update is better than no update at all. However, I'll forgive anything if the GT350 becomes officially available in the UK

well well well, it would seem my hard work has paid off! I got a reply from Flat Rock Assembly Plant themselves! Good to see they are building them at a good rate. Hopefully information will start to flow now!

"Hi Kristian –
We are excited to be able to bring the RHD Mustang to the UK! Thank you for your support. We started building these last week. Currently we are building between 20-35 each day. As of now, it is hard to track orders. We have had several requests, but because the launch began last week, most of the cars we receive requests for do not have a scheduled build date yet. The best place to receive information would be through your dealership. I apologize that your dealer has not been able to provide you with more information. I have been told that a car takes between 6-8 weeks to build – from order, or in this case, from its place on the order list. However I’m not sure how long shipping will take to the UK. My suggestion would be to send your VIN number to me and let’s find out if your vehicle has a scheduled build date. If not, I can flag the email and check periodically. Usually your dealership will receive information as it becomes available, but I’m happy to look into it for you as well."

My order number is H0012  I'm not sure why mine doesn't begin with an L like everyone else.
