Good read. Who would have thought the Honda had better acceration numbers?:shrug:I'm not cross shopping those no matter how similar they may be. I'd just drive down to the ford dealer and get the EB.

its a pretty ridiculous comparison. one's an enthusiast car, the other is an econobox.

i guess the ecoboost can be called an enthusiast car that can double as an econobox due to the MPG.

No one looking for a Mustang/Camaro etc is going to be looking at an Accord coupe. It's so bland. I was personally considering a GTI or BRZ since they are in the same price range, but for the money, the power and looks Mustang won out.

MT must be desperate to write something like this. Just kinda stupid to me.

There are lots of cars quick 0-60 but most I wouldn't want to drive. Like comparing a Tesla to a 911 GT3....yeh the tesla is fast in a straight line...cant wait to see the accord coupe line up at the local drag strip LOL.

Why Go Accord Coupe? It Could Win a Race Against a More Powerful Mustang 2.3
Let me Google those 1/4 mile times from C&D.

Accord: 14.2
Mustang: 13.9

Close, but the EB still wins it. Then you have a thing called "corners".

Honda make some good FWD cars - the Accord has never been one of them. Watch as your front end goes into a tree.

Also, Turbos can be tuned for dirt money to output more power. Given in identical spec the Accord is $3000 more (or thereabouts) its no contest.

The article was pretty interesting, but those comments....

The idiocy on the part of the commenters would be funny if it wasn't so sad. I hope most of them are just trolls.

There was a guy in CarandDriver, think his name was IwantmyLs1 or something, ALWAYS did that comparison

Listen, end of the day, you got a fun coupe/convertible with heritage and sex appeal that has a ginormous aftermarket that could be anything you want it to be. Not knocking the accord, its decent, but for the $$ and stuff, I can think of many cars besides the Mustang I could get (Challenger, always got a soft spot for that)

In 2003 I had a new Accord coupe V6 that surprised the shit out of and beat many V8 Mustang owners. Racing around Mt Rainier Natl Park w/ a modded WRX proved its capabilities in the corners as well. Got 32 mpg at 90 mph out in Montana, and would get 33-34 at regular interstate speeds...at the time no other cars could do so many things so well. Favorite daily driver I've ever had. If I was limited to owning only one car that I had to drive in all seasons, it would very likely be another Accord. This new bodystyle is attractive, just wish they'd have used the 9 speed from Acura. Magazine and # comparison is mental masturbation, in the real world the Accord is a very capable semi-performance car that is well rounded for DD duty.

Much respect, even though an EB is in my near future.

Actually my old boss cross shopped them

He ended up with the Accord. Lots of people like Honda's. This version is a sportier version than the sedan. I've driven it and it's a nice car, quick and handles well.

His reason for the Honda was "his age." He thought the less stated sportiness of the Honda suited his image. He's in his late 50's, and felt the Mustang was a little too flashy for him.

A car that has doesn't do anything particularly well?
I got a soft spot for them, plus if your gonna have a roomy coupe, might as well have something with presence
