Assembly Line Number

I received a call from my dealer yesterday and was given my assembly number, does anyone know what use this number has? Other than confirming build/delivery?

Got my assembly line number (NX9R) a week or so ago. Also recieved an email from Ford Australia confirming my race red Mustang and the fact that they will keep me informed of its progress. Also confirmed for November delivery. I believe the number above is the number they give the car during its production.

They need a web cam in the factory so you can watch it come down the line.

if it is the NSC order number (which is a 4 digit alphanumeric) then it means that you have progressed a bit further towards getting your new car.
it can only be tracked via Ford internal staff.

The next big step will be getting a VIN allocated - then comes the window sticker - then the build can occur.

That's exactly what I received. Exciting times, thanks!! So how much time did it time did it take for you to get your VIN after you got your NSC order number

Yeah I got mine also, maybe it's too soon, I was only hoping for a Christmas delivery. Have to clean out the garage a bit sooner!!!

I got both together but I understand that it may be 2-4 weeks from the time the NSC is allocated to when the VIN is.

Suggest you ask your dealer to provide the VIN as soon as he sees it change on the ordering system.
I believe that the information is updated on Thursdays each week.

i saw one of the UK guys has a build date of the 3rd of August..that means the car is being built now.
That would be one of the 1st RHD versions - I wouldn't be surprised to see a media release statement from Ford USA in the next day or 2 with pictures of the 1st production RHD mustang rolling off the assembly line in Flat rock.

It's getting closer to the 1st RHD Australian versions being built - only 2 - 3 weeks to go...

They messaged me on FB, I asked about a vin and they said not until production begins, so does that mean those that have a vin have already been made? I didn't ask I was just so pumped about it being made next week or the week after! Very interesting and exciting days ahead. Now to figure out how I'm gonna pay for it.
