Disappointing day on the dyno

This was on a Dyno Dynamics but it really doesnt matter. The correction values are on the owner of the dyno. Like I said, the number means nothing to me right now because I have nothing to compare the results too. Sure, the peak number is great for bragging rights but I'd much rather know what the tune and CAI are actually doing.


Now, this morning was extremely cool compared to weather the last month. It was 65° on the way to work, just gorgeous for a change! The humidity was also very low (wish this weather would last). This has a pretty big impact to the average for now but if you guys start providing me with data (especially log files) I'll continue to plug the info into the spreadsheet I've created. The more data, the more realistic the information will become. If you share the data, be sure to provide the ambient temp as these numbers are all referenced as above ambient.

Moore Automotive in Fairfax is a decent place for running on the dyno.

S550 dyno day! If we can get 3 or 4 of us Moore may give us a chealer price than normal. I know they did when I dynoed my ST with two other people.

Problem is I'm not permitted to do any work with it on the dyno. I can make the first two passes with the stock intake and pull it off the dyno but then I have to pay for another dyno session. That may actually be cheaper now that I think about it LOL.

That is a shitty shop then. A decent shop would have let you swap out the intakes real quick.. unless they were booked up and another car was waiting past their appointment time.

They're always booked. They didnt have time to do the intake swap initially but the car they were tuning after my run was too low to get on the dyno so they had to do a bit of work on it and I was able to get the intake done and some extra pulls.

Their policy doesnt bug me one bit.

Made it back onto the dyno today with the JLT CAI and Lund tune. Results are:

408.7hp and 376.6lb' torque (original run was 401.7hp and 376.3lb' torque). Same dyno but 8° warmer today (doesnt account for much).

Can the shop provide an overlay to see if the under the curve gains were substantially more appealing? Did you happen to datalog on the dyno to provide info to Lund?
